Have never used this airline before---a replacement for where we fly out of for Airtran which we always had good experience with and great fares.

Will have to book a one way flight for our way home-----prices aren't nearly as good as Airtran was ----anyone know how I can get a promo code or anyway to get some savings???

Also, any suggestions or experience you have had with them that would help in our travels would be appreciated.

Does anyone know how the Select Seating works with the Classic fare?? Would we be one of the first to board if we got 5th or 6th row select seats???

Thanks;)

It's been years since I have flown Frontier, but I did like them. Best bet to save money is to keep checking fares. Fares are typically cheaper on Tues and Weds. but again, it is a crap shoot. I'd say book when you get a price you feel comfortable with. Sorry can't help you with seats. Maybe someone else will chime in. Best of luck to you.

I live in Colorado, where Frontier is based, and it's a great airline. We have never had an issue.

thanks for the replies---I had heard they were a pretty good airline. Now I'm also wondering about Allegiant too.

I still would love to know how their seating and boarding works if anyone knows.:)

Looks like we might be flying Frontier now that AirTran has left both Knoxville, TN and Lexington, KY but I have no idea how anything with them works. I'd also like to know. ;)

Thanks!
Carla

I only fly frontier (when I book flights) as they are my favorite. I also live in co where they are based ;) as far as seating, yes you will get priority boarding if you sit in the first 5 rows. They do those then parents with kids under five and then economy ;) classic plus and possibly classic get boarded with the first group as well

I just flew to Mexico with Frontier earlier this month. We had a great experience. Tv's in all of the headrests with free direct tv. Watched a few shows and we were at our destination. Just bring your own headphones with you or they had some they provided but I'm not sure if they were free or not.:confused3

try joining they're frequent flyer program" early returns" they have alot of specials through that also, they were offering a credit card with i think 25,000 miles ?? sign up for emails i got a freak 25% off for christmas flights a few months back from an email special!!!!

Does anybody know when Frontier is releasing their spring travel dates?

interested in this also, we are flying out of mco on the 1/7/13, we have points from applying for their cc, dates only go to the 6th !
i've been checking evey day

Frontier's fares almost always go on sale at some point. If you sign up for the rewards program emails, they usually notify you there. Sometimes you have to look carefully for 5/10/15% off promo codes in there for the class fare sales. Sometimes the sale and promo code stacks for a nice discount!

I always buy the classic ticket because I'm a heavy packer. You get two suitcases free and free tv/movies in-flight and "select seating". Classic Plus gets you in the first 4 rows for free, while it costs $5-30 to upgrade to those rows on Classic and
$15-40 on an Economy ticket. If you search for a flight you can see a seating chart for the plane and which seats are classed as what and how much it costs to change to the other rows. Each flight seems to have different pricing. Only Classic Plus fares are refundable, but Classic is changeable all but the day of travel, for free. Economy is a $50 change fee.

I almost always sit in the 5th row and usually you get to load after rows 1-4 and high-level rewards people. I have seen them load the back first though, and I have also seen them not pre-load people who need extra time and with small children. It's not too often, but it has happened a few times.

I know that's a lot of information but hopefully it's helpful!

I am waiting for 1/19. People are asking on their Facebook page and they respond that they are working on it and it will be up "in a few weeks". Unfortunately, that was two and a half weeks ago. I did see another answer of early August, so hopefully soon now! I'm not entirely sure how long the schedule will extend to. Possibly to match Southwest's schedule.

For anybody who may be interested, Frontier has updated their schedule through March 17, 2013. In addition, Orlando fares are currently on sale and if you are booking a flight for next year you can use the promo code FLY10 to save an extra 10% off if you buy tickets by the 10th.

Anxiously awaiting the release of Frontier's June schedule. I am traveling June 1-11 and when I played with their schedule by selecting equivalent days in March I got a fairly good fare ($180 each way). Oddly enough the cheapest fare out of Colorado Springs was the non-stop!! Out of denver right now is $250 round trip but I would be willing to pay the extra to avaoid the 1.5 hour drive to the airport. Still keeping my eyes open for Southwest to release their June schedule (probably near Christmas)
