Any problems at WDW with the Schwinn SC700 Double Umbrella Stroller?

We are leaning towards at side by side double stroller for our 5 yr old daughter and 15 mo. old son, but I'm worried about how wide the stroller is going to be.

Any experiences with using this stroller in WDW would be fantastic.

I am not interested in a tandem stroller, our other options would be a sit and stand or two light weight umbrellas.

I've noticed that there are lots of stroller questions on this board. It seems that the ideal Disney 2 kid stroller doesn't exisit. At least not for what I'd want to pay.

Hmmm, maybe Disney should start a stroller exchange program. Instead of renting at the parks, you could rent one at your resort for your length of stay....Its a great idea don't you think?

Thanks,

I ordered this stroller recently. It is on back order but I expect it to be in within the next two weeks. If you can wait I'll let you know. I ordered for my 5 and 6 year old. We have a single umbrella Kolcraft stroller for three year old. This way when one grows out of the stroller the little one can take her place and we should get a few good years use. Will let you know.

Thanks,

I do not have experience with this particular umbrella side-by-side stroller but we have used side-by-side umbrella strollers for our last 4 WDW trips.

We LOVE it. We had no problems manuvering it around WDW. It fit through all doors.

I'd rather have a side-by-side than front back or 2 single strollers any day!

Good luck deciding!

Thanks,

We are favoring the Schwinn. But we've only seen it online. I'm worried that once we get it we won't like it.

We bought this stroller specifically for our Nov. 2003 trip to Disney with our two boys, ages 6 and 2 at the time. It was great on the trip! We loved it then and still love it now. It folds down quick and easy into an umbrella type fold, although a little wider than a single stroller would fold, great baskets under each seat, pouch behind each seat was great for guide maps, light enough to swing on and off the buses easily. Much easier than a traditional double stroller, easy to maneuver among the crowds and through the parks. Sometimes a little wide for the stores, but not always. The seats recline so the boys could rest or nap if they wanted, and the handles are adjustable depending on the height of the parent. I highly recommend this stroller. It is perfect for a trip to Disney. You will be very happy with this stroller on your trip.

How big was your six year old when using this stroller? did his feet hang down to the wheels? My four year old is 40 inches tall and I'm unable to find an umbrella stroller that her feet don't hang down to the wheels or that she can keep her feet on the footrest. Was any of this a problem with this stroller?

Thanks! we can't find these locally so I'm really out of luck and I don't want to order it and have it not be big enough.

My six year old was able to rest his feet on the foot rest. This stroller is designed to hold more weight than a normal umbrella stroller. He was fine in it, very comfortable. I had the same problem with him, all the cheap umbrella strollers were too small for him, both height and weight. This one is a little taller than most, and accomodates larger children. I was afraid to purchase it as well, since you can't actually find one in the stores to try before buying, but am very happy with it. He will be 7 in November and he still uses the stroller at our zoo and nearby parks when we go off. I have no complaints about the stroller.
