Let me start off by saying I *know* that it's not technically in Florida. I *know* that the cases there have come from traveling out of the US.

But.

Being 13 weeks along and heading down there next week, I can't say I'm not freaking out a little bit. We've got some CDC recommended bug spray and I'll be applying it religiously. Just wanted to see if anyone else is worried or if I should chill out ;).

I went in early feb when I was around 16 weeks. I wore long sleeves and pants, which probably isn't feasible now. I also used bug spray. I will say I didn't see a single mosquito the entire week. I just wasn't comfortable with the large groups of tourists from South America that were there at the same time as us. I wouldnt say I was worried, necessarily. Just better safe than sorry!

Good to know!

And also, I know it's not a "new" thing, but it seems like they haven't done tons of research on it and are finding out that it's being transmitted in different ways. So who knows what we're being exposed to....omg...

Okay....paranoid-over-thinking-preggo at work here. I wish I could have a beer....

there's another thread on the board about zika virus and pregnancy...might help! just search "zika" :)

I'm at WDW now, and I have not seen or heard a single mosquito, nor have I seen a single bite on any of the 9 people in our party. I've got to think that WDW is being super careful about it because even one case from WDW would be bad for business.
