I had arthroscopic hip surgery three weeks ago for a tendon tear. I'm going to have to go to several sessions of physical therapy and I just can't relax when the therapist raises my leg to stretch me out. I think there are a couple of reasons for this:
First, even though I'm in a lot less pain, I think I'm anticipating that the movements are going to hurt.
Second, I was physically abused as a child, so I have problems with someone I don't know touching me.
So, my question is, do you have any suggestions to help me relax? My surgeon is afraid that in the weeks to come as therapy becomes more intense, I may have tendon problems if I can't do this.
Thanks, Edie
