Any other pool/water park options close to DL?

I have been convinced by everyone on this board to do 3 days at DL instead of taking one day out for the Knotts Berry farm water park.... :) Haha! You guys are a little bit biased...

We are staying at the new Hyatt House. The pool looks a bit basic. Is there anywhere close that we could go for another pool option when the heat wilts the kids? Even a local community pool or lake?

There's Great Wolf Lodge just a few miles south of DL. In order to hit their slides though, you'll have to book a room with them. And they're not cheap during the summer or weekends. However, middle of the week during the offseason can provide pretty good deals. We booked a Monday and Tuesday night in late Feb and got a basic room for under $200.

As for Soak City, if your kids think water slides are the best, then do it! Of course, 3 days in the parks is almost a must. Maybe just extend your trip by one day.

I was also going to recommend Knott's Soak City. Its pretty cool! Especially for the younger ones :)

This board did the same thing to me. We were going to do two days at DLR and one at either Knotts or Universal. They convinced me otherwise and I am glad they did. Be careful though, you may end up staying onsite before it's said and done. We were once booked offsite and now we're at DLH. Disney should pay these guys a commission.

Bold is mine and this is so true. :lmao: We are the best enablers. :teeth:

Stay onsite and use the amazing pools at the Disney resorts. Or, the Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance has a full on waterpark with slides and a nice pool.

Great Wolf Lodge is pretty awesome. If you book just one night, you get access to the waterpark for 2 days. We stayed there for $159/night over 2 nights in early June. Midweek rates are low.
