Congrats to you lovinwdw!!!!! Sending you lots of baby dust!!

Michelle fingers are crossed for a great beta result

Skuttle, I totally understand about how you feel with the ladies becoming pregnant. I know it might be tough, but it used to make me feel better if I thought about how maybe they had a tough time of getting pregnant... that maybe this is their little blessing.
Of course my friend announced she was TTC last year... started just after we did and now has a baby. Her SIL will be due in June (when I would have been). That one was really tough to swallow :(

Denise, not 100% sure of kosher laws and all, but an idea that a friend of mine had was to make the baby food from fresh veggies and food yourself in a food processor. She didn't like the preservatives the baby food had and didn't like the cost. She literally could feed her baby whatever they ate by whipping it to death. Just an alternative for baby food :)

Lizzie, good luck with everything. I would guess by now if you haven't had a BFP then it would be time to call your doc and get a blood test. I would imagine you would have it showing up with a POAS test. some just don't show on those and require blood tests.

It's funny, I almost want to not TTC for a few months. I think my DH and I want to drive to WDW in early May... I was pregnant the last time we went and I *really* don't want to do that again. I might do my best to avoid it for a month and then try to book a trip.

well beta is 139. yeah!!! they want it over 25 at least, but ideally in the 100 area. average for this timeframe (14dp egg retrieval/ovulation) is 119. it should double every 48 hours, so that is the real test.

i go back monday for a second beta. by then it should be over 500 if all is good- or close to it at least. i hope so! still have cramping and backache today a lot.

my progesterone is super high. 110~!!! i think they like it at at least 20. so she said to continue my progesterone in oil shots this weekend, but i might get to switch to suppositories next week. what a relief, these shots every night are getting old with this huge guage and 1.5inch needle. i've bled like crazy the last few nights after it too- he just hit a small vein i guess.

i will feel a lot better after monday's beta once i see the number go up!! that is the true test. Carla- you are so right, the first few weeks of knowing you are prego are so hard!!!

Belle- welcome- wow on your situation then- you haven't even quit BCP yet, i misunderstood that....i would give it some more time, could just be a fluke and the chances of so low of getting prego on BCP, i know it happens, but it is somewhat uncommon. we can hope though! :thumbsup2

Hi All -- don't have alot of time to post so not going to address everyone but please know I am thinking of all of you!

Welcome to our new members!

Just wanted to say Congrats Michelle!!! Great beta number - good strong number -- I am so happy for you!

Great you are going back on MOnday too -- they are making me wait a whole week in between betas and since I know the doubling more than the number is what's important - I hate having to wait until next Wed to know whether I am doubling normally. They said by Wed. I should be at 2400 which seems so high so I am nervous!

But I am so so happy for you!! A good solid number that indicates a growing healthy baby!

Yeah!

By the way - I have been doing some research and my number at 290 makes twins likely - that is freaking me out!

Thinking of you!

Enjoy this moment -- you have worked hard to get here!

Hi and hugs to everyone else!

-Nicole

Hi ladies! I just wanted to post quickly to say congrats to Michelle and Nicole, and welcome to the new folks, and I've been reading everything and following along but I haven't had much time online lately. I've really been cheering for everyone, and I'm just so excited to have more people joining the thread! And all these BFP's are so incredibly encouraging!!

I'm still in the "might be fertile" zone and waiting to O, Dh has been feeling sick off and on but so far we've managed to BD fairly regulary. Yesterday was our 3rd anniversary  and it was an absolutely crazy day for both of us! The 17mo. old I babysit all day has been extra fussy and demanding lately, and then yesterday she had a stinky diaper so messy and awful that it involved baths for both of us, a full load of laundry, cleaning the carpet in 2 rooms, and sanitizing a laundry basket full of stuff. :scared1: Just another experience to add to the list of "preparation for parenthood"! ;)

Love you guys! Hope more BFP's show up soon!!! :cheer2:

That's something DH and I have been discussing. I will definitely do that with the meats, because none of the baby food that has meat in it is kosher. The organic baby food is better as far as preservatives and I have found ones that are kosher...I just need to locate the grocery store that carries them when the time is right. Thanks for the idea.

Oh by the way...AF is here! :thumbsup2 And boy is she early...not due for two more weeks, but I'm sure it will be awhile before I regulate. Take care all...I must eat now...I'm grumpy and hungry.

Thought I come and post....
My name is angela, I am 42 and my Dhubby is 55. WOW we are old..LOL

I want to let you know I feel for all of you....the emotional roll coaster all of you are going through!!
I been there....When we decided to have a baby, I was 22, I told my OB right away I wanted to get pregnant.....my story is, I did not ovalate at all...I would have 2 periods a month lasting about 10 days each.....I did charting, hermones pills, took every signal test, correct some problems....Then finally, I was on ferterilizations pills. This went on for 2 yrs....In the mean time my sister got pregnant really quick... Friends etc,,,I was very happy for everyone but sad for myself....Anyway, being on the fertile pill for awhile, I could not take it anymore....I told my husband I could not do it anymore. We just won't have any kids......That month I got pregnant!!

Let, you know, I come from a family of 10. I am the youngest....know one could relate how I was feeling....of course, my mother could not at all, she had 10 kids....she just could not understand how I felt.....or what was wrong with me.....My other sisters had no problems....sisters were very supported.....Just want all you girls to know don't give up!!! This thread is great support for help, to talk, and just being understood...

Let you know, I had a daughter!! She just turn 16, day after christmas....She is my life and my friend.
After I had her, I never try again to have anymore kids....I was happy just to having her....Well, I went on BC just regulate my period...off and on....Well, 1996, we took DD to disney, came home 2 monthes later I found out I was pregnant....I was shook!!!! Never thought I could get pregnant again....We are returning this year to celebrate his 10th birthday. He was blessing....DD and DS are very close....My DD acts like a mother to him.

I feel for all of you and I will keep everyone in my prayers...Best of Luck!!!

ang,

thank you for sharing this, --great words of encouragement. It's always nice to hear from someone who overcame their fertility setbacks.

Tiggerlover--I had no idea that gerber wasn't kosher! I'll have to check that out next time I'm at the store. I'm Jewish and my husband is Catholic (well...neither of us go to church or temple, but those are our backgrounds!) so I'm not sure what kind of diet our chidren will have yet. But I keep kosher, so it just seems easiest to have the kids keeping kosher as well...whew, I guess we'll see!

Actually, a lot of the gerber jarred food isn't kosher, but their cereals are and some of their snack foods are. Most of the juices have certification also. I've also discovered that Earth's Best Baby Food is under supervision and they have a WONDERFUL line of food. I just have to get to the right stores to get them. I may have to travel a bit one hour either way, but my baby will be worth it. :goodvibes There is no other diet for our little one to keep but kosher, DH and I have been doing it for 2 1/2 years now and so must the little one. ;) I keep my eye out now, so it won't be so hard when the time comes to shop. Any other questions...just let me know. I'm researching a lot. Also, BeechNut is kosher AND they have kosher for Passover baby foods also! :cool1:

Shalom,

Denise

Thanks so much for the support. I know I need to stay positive. DH keeps telling me that the stress is probably getting to me, and if I just relaxed it will happen. I know he's probably correct. It's just so hard. And all of these pregnant people around me...none of them are people I'm really close to so I have NO idea what their history is with TTC. I'm sure many get tired of me whining when I already have a DS that was a surprise...so I should probably just count my blessings and what will be will be. It's just so hard. I'm an only child and I REALLY don't want DS to be one!

Nicole: Twins!! Wow! How much fun would that be?!? My cousin just had twin girls in December. She also has a little boy that will be 2 in May so she has her hands full!! SHe's handled it all so well, though. You just do what you have to do. I know that's how I was when I was pregnant. I have always hated doctors and needles, but when pregnant, DH couldn't believe how well I handled everything. I guess the mom in us all just takes over and you just do it without thinking about it!

Michelle: Great numbers!! I'm just so happy for you!

Lizzie: Wow! That's a lot of pregnant ladies to be around!! Someone mentioned there must be something in the water at my office because two ladies on my floor are pregnant. I think we need some of the water your students have been drinking!!

Has anyone seen or heard from Emily? Haven't seen her around lately.

Hi Guys

Steph asked me to post another message for her --- remember that even though she can't post you don't need to be logged in to look at messages/threads so you can post directly back to her...I think she is probably looking.

Stephs's message is in purple:

"Technically, my period is 2 days late, making me 16 DPO. I keep getting BFN no matter what time of the day that I test, but my ****s are GIGANTIC and sore. They're busting out of my bra. My husband is in shock over their size, and they literally feel like milk jugs.

I asked my doctor what's going on since my period had not started, and he said that sometimes when you have an HSG (which I did at the beginning of Feb.), it irritates your uterine lining and makes it late. However, he couldn't explain about the big sore boo-bays, but he said he's crossing his fingers.

Soooooo....I'm stumped. I can understand the late period with a BFN, but what in the hell is up with the ****s?? They have NEVER gotten like this before a period."

****************************
Thanks for the nice story Ang.

Skuttle - don't give up - it takes longer for some of us but it will happen for you one way or the other --- there are lots of ways to have a child...keep your chin up!

Imarriedgrumpy -- what a story - if you still want kids after dealing with that then you will make a wonderful mom!

I was wondering about Emily too....hope she is ok!

I probably should have said that twins are possible rather than likely -- I have seen a beta around mine go either way...on the one hand I think it would be cool and on the other hand it scares me to death. Of course a little boy and girl would be perfect!!!

Have a good day ladies!

-Nicole

Michelle, awesome beta!!!!

:dance3: :dance3: <----more of these dancing things.

Ok, I have some questions for you guys...

At what point in "trying" did you drop caffeine? I drink a lot of soda, and I know we're not trying for a while still, but I'm kind of thinking I should go ahead and limit my consumption.

How long did you allow for regulation after coming off BCP?

Thanks-I've been lurking for a while, just not quite ready yet.

Caffeine - I had been off caffeine several years before trying to become pregnant so that wasn't really an issue for me. If I had not, I would have tried to reduce it gradually until I was totally caffeine free. I think the caffeine free coke and pepsi taste the same. It might be harder if you're a mountain dew drinker. I'm not sure if there's a good substitution, taste wise, for that.

BCP- I got a period exactly 27 days after stopping the pill and have been regular since. Some women take several months to even see AF. My doctor told me that the most important thing is to start taking your multi vitamin with at least 400 folic acid for at least 3 months before trying to get pregnant.

Good luck

Well, I only drink soda once a week at work, but I can wean myself off completely. We've got lemonade and water I can drink instead. I suppose I need to stay away from the Rasp Tea also...caffeine! :(

Well AF showed up for me 21 days this time...that's exactly two weeks early, but we'll see what happens next month.

I JUST ordered some kosher vitamins and I'll start taking those regularly as soon as they arrive.

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

Tiggerlover91,

You could make your own raspberry tea with decaf regular tea bags (I like salada the best) and herbel raspberry tea. I usually use 2 reg. bag and 1 raspberry per pot.

THANK YOU! :thumbsup2 I'll keep that in mind. At work it's just so easy to put my cup under the raspberry tea. I could drink Sprite...it doesn't have caffeine..I just forgot that sometimes. So is Barq's RB I believe.

Hey Ladies!!!

Not much going on here...just in the dreaded 2WW

My DH called me this afternoon and said he wants to take me out on a date tomorrow night. He is so sweet. We haven't been on a "just the two of us date" in a while. So it sounds like dinner and a movie :cloud9:

Keep your fingers crossed for me, ladies! DH and I are headed out to Monterey for our anniversary weekend away, and so far it doesn't look like I've O'd, so there's still a chance for us! DH is feeling better, we're staying at a romantic hotel or B&B (DH won't tell me, but he did tell me that he wasn't able to get us in at the hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon), and the whole weekend is devoted to romance so.... ;)

I'm really hoping that O will hold off just another day or two so we can get a shot at this month!

I've been having a crazy week with the girl I babysit - the major poopy diaper was just the peak of the week...she's also discovered "willful disobedience", so discipline has taken on a whole new level. Fortunately, I'm good friends with her parents, and we've worked out a good plan for dealing with the new challenge. Next week will be the one year anniversary of my taking care of babyG. I'd hoped to have a baby of my own by now - DH calls babyG our "practice baby", and we started getting the house baby ready when I started watching her. Sigh. Well, here's hoping this weekend will be the magic one we need to upgrade from the part-time practice baby to a full-time model! :)

Still thinking of all of you at your various places in your journey, and hoping all goes well for each of you!!! I'll be back to check in again on Monday and see how you all are doing over the weekend...

Denise, I don't know how Kosher you keep, but I am totally curious. Have you seen the "Passover Cokes" around where you live? I am so trying to find them. We are Catholic so we don't keep Kosher ;) but I hate high fructose corn syrup with a passion. So if you have seen it, let me know as I am dying to find out where people are finding it :teeth:
It's just difficult to find soft drinks w/ just regular boring sugar these days.

That kind of ties into caffeine. I've dropped it off mostly and did it years ago. I do have an occasional Coke now and then, but for the most part I don't intake caffeine. Keep in mind you do NOT have to give it up while pregnant... just limit it. I believe about 2 cans of coke or coffee a day is considered fine. I'd have to look at my old pregnancy packet to be sure.

I do believe Barq's rootbeer DOES have caffeine in it. That is why it has the bite. Their diet doesn't seem to though. A&W and Mugs both do not have it as well. The orange sodas and the clear sodas (unless an energy drink) in addition to gingerale do not have caffeine either.

I've been thinking about Emily as well... I do hope she is doing okay.

Thanks for the Steph update! I hope she goes into her doc for a blood test at this point ;)

Rebecca, enjoy date night!

Imarried I will so keep my fingers crossed for you!

I am sure for us this month was a bust and I am good with it. I really think I'll do my best to take the next few months off though so we can go to WDW w/o an extra ;) Maybe we'd get lucky there anyway :teeth:
