Skuttle-Hope you guys have a wonderful time!!! Here’s to getting your little souvenir :wizard:

Michelle-We LOVE POR too!! This will be our fourth stay there.

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!!

Be safe and have fun!!!

Well, I think we're in the 2ww. FF says I O'd last Tuesday, so we would have got the BD timing right at least. I'm not entirely sure because my temps aren't up as high as usual, but they certainly are higher than typical. Normally I'm 97.2, and I've had several days at 97.5. Usually after I O I jump to 97.8 or higher, so I'm not completely convinced I'm past O yet. :confused3 We'll see...I'd certainly be O-ing late this month if I'm not at that point yet. My temps were pretty rocky this month as well, so I think it's just going to be an off month for us. Would be funny if we do get the BFP this month, because that child would have been conceived at my parent's house!

Hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve! Here's to lots of BFP's in 2007!!pixiedust: party:

Okay, new question for you all...with a bit of a long introduction for background info.

DH and I are trying to start a tradition of taking one "big" vacation (7 - 10 days) every spring. We decided that even after we have kids we'd like this to continue, and have spent time talking with various friends who travel extensively with their children, even when the kids were babies, to get advice and insight into what to expect and how to make it work.

So far we've done two trips, and we alternate each year with who chooses the trip. Last year DH chose England, and this year it is my turn to choose. I'm debating between an Alaska Cruise, Austria, and a Danube River Cruise, and trying to price each one out for which is most possible on our budget.

I recently was talking to DMIL about our plans, and she was shocked that we were thinking of taking a trip when we're trying to get pregnant. She insists that I would be miserable taking a "long" vacation while pregnant (if we get that BFP before June). Are we being crazy for going ahead with our plans? :confused3 DMIL seems to think that we should cut way back and definitely not go to Europe if we even suspect that I might be pregnant at the time of the trip. We really need to book our trip now to get the dates we want, and at most I'd be 6mo preg (if I get a BFP this month - fingers crossed, knock on wood...).

What do you think? Should we keep planning our trip and just see what happens, or scale back plans for this year? I'd be pretty ticked if we decided not to do anything "just in case" and then I still wasn't preg by June. What would you do?

I don't think you're crazy at all. So far during the pregnancy we've taken the following vacations with the lengths- I won't count the 5 day trip to WDW when I didn't know I was pg yet.
Brazil (including about 13 hours flight in each direction and not counting layovers)- 20 days
Montreal- 6 days (7 if you include the extra day we had to stay there because of the terrorism threat)
WDW- 4 days
Smoky mountains- 5 days

We went to Montreal when I was at the height of morning (aka all day) sickness and I didn't feel sick at all while I was there. I think that the distraction of being away is just what we need to forget all the little botherances of being pg.
As long as you take care of yourself and make sure that you are well hydrated and don't do too much, you wil be fine.
Also, a lot of people take babymoons all over the place. :) hth

I would still plan on taking a vacation, but I would make sure I had vacation insurance. If Angelina Jolie could go off to the middle of nowwhere, you should be fine in Europe. Have a great time!

I married grumpy - go for it. People go on vacations pregnant all of the time. The only thing I wouldn't do is go to a country where I needed special immunizations or medications for malaria, etc. Other than that, have a great time!

Michelle, glad to hear that the mentality for you has changed... I just know that it sucked a lot out of me to have AF show up every month for aobut 10 months and then this... I have a feeling it is out of my hands so I can't do anything but relax. I am sure that IVF will be different for you... but with that, there is even more poking and prodding of you than before. I would wonder more there especially since it costs so much to do.

Grumpy's Wife ;) I would plan the vacation too. I would make sure I wasn't past 35 weeks (that is my doc's limit) and truthfully I would do it before about 6 or 7 months pregnant if it was really far away, but otherwise, remember I was pregnant too going to WDW. My doc has no limits on traveling, though having to get up ever 2 hours can be rough if not flying. Plan away and have fun!

Happy New Year Girls! :goodvibes Thanks for all the kind words & thoughts of me & hubby over the last week or so. My D&C went well on 12/22 & I recovered nicely. I mostly had a lot of cramping for 3 days, but barely any spotting at all. Sorry I've been MIA over the holidays - we've just been trying to work thru everything that's happened & I needed some time to deal with it all.

Pooh Princess & SDFGirl - CONGRATS!!!! Sending you lots of sticky vibes for those babies!! :wizard: :cheer2:

Elaine - thanks again for the PM - your support has meant a lot over these last few days. Good luck to you & your hubby TTC again. We can't wait until we're there with you. :)

Skuttle - I hope you're enjoying WDW right now & hoping you bring back that priceless souvenir!! :goodvibes

Michelle - enjoy your quickie/business trip to WDW - I hope you get that BFP before you go!! :)

Things have been going pretty good here. It's my first day back at work since before my D&C on 12/22. We were closed last week for the holidays, so that worked out well with my recovery time. It's been hard to get back into the swing of things & I've had to answer a lot of questions this morning. I know everyone means well & is concerned for me, but I just don't really want to discuss it much anymore (at least not with my coworkers - LOL)

I've been busy getting all of our last minute stuff situated for our upcoming WDW trip - 2 weeks from tomorrow!! :thumbsup2 It's hard on the one hand - we originally thought I'd be well into my 2nd trimester on this trip & would be limited on my rides & obviously no drinks around the "world." I've been revamping our touring plans a bit now that I'll be my old "normal" self now & while I'm trying to be positive & happy that I can go on my favorite Yeti ride now, I also feel a little guilty/sad to be happy about that. Not sure if that makes any sense or not...

I hope everyone had a great holiday & I hope we all have a magical 2007 - Lots of Baby Dust all around!!! :wizard: :goodvibes

Wow Emily- welcome back to work. so glad everything went as smoothly as possible. i know going back to work can't be easy with the questions etc. I am with you, i would just be done talking about it. i am still thinking of you though!!:grouphug: i think you are so super strong.

only 2 weeks til the mouse huh? i am so jealous! where are you guys staying and for how long? i am so glad you get to ride the yeti, but i understand your torn feeling too. just enjoy drinking around the world! just a warning, the margaritas from the stand in mexico are strong!! :rotfl: i am going next wednesday to orlando (1/10-1/15) for work. i have managed to work the tradeshow schedule where i have off on 1/11 and 1/13 in the afternoon to hit up Epcot and MK respectively. a good friend of mine is also going with another company to the same show, and she is going to the parks with me- she is a first timer! i can't wait to show her the mouse. plus Dh is flying out for two nights to crash with me at the AK Lodge. i get to stay there for 5 nights on the company dime! i've never stayed at a deluxe, so i am pretty excited. POR is usually our home.

have you booked any yummy meals yet? :cool1:

well CD21 here. i can test as early as saturday, that would be 14DP IUI. i think i am going to wait and not test until Monday though. that would be CD27....and if AF hasn't shown up yet, then i'll have a hint. she's shown by CD25 or 26 the last few months. here's to hoping.

well happy new year to all! here's hoping for lots of babies for us all in 2007!

Hi ladies. Thanks for all your well wishes. We went to the Dr. tonight and he confirmed it and referred me to an OB. Here's to hoping my boss is accepting of this. I was put on a 90 day probation because I was taking too much time to go to Dr and Dentist appointments. I don't think they will like knowing that I am pregnant. I was hoping to hold off telling them until after March (the end of the 90 day), but, I don't know if I can since I have to see the OB (my regular Dr. can see me in the evening.)

Well, my first day back at work was exhausting, so I didn't do much last night once I got home. Hubby was working late, so I vegged on the couch with the dogs - which was a nice change after all of the furniture moving & painting I'd been doing for the last several days. We still have a bit of painting to finish up in the bedroom before we can move our furniture back, so hubby & I are going to work on this tonight together to try & get it all finished! (We're in the process of cleaning up the house to hopefully put up for sale in Feb.) I also went to Target yesterday to get a couple of little things I needed for the trip - essentials like make-up, face wipes & a Tide to go stick. :rotfl:

Michelle - thanks for your thoughts. :goodvibes We have AP's from our trip in Sept/Oct & we like to get away from the NE during the winter when we can, so we planned a January trip. We're staying 4 nights at POP with an AP rate & then 6 nights at Caribbean Beach. It'll be our first time at a mod & we're very excited to stay there & enjoy relaxing on the hammocks. We're trying to eat at some of our favorite restaurants since we don't know when we'll return with TTC & all - Cape May Cafe, Crystal Palace for Breakfast, Spoodles, Beaches & Cream, Boma & Liberty Tree one night before the Pirate & Princess party. pirate: princess:

We've stayed in a couple of deluxes before & Wilderness Lodge was one of our favorites. I think AKL is very similar in design & I'm sure you'll love it!! It's one place that I definitely want to stay at some day. Sounds like you've got some fun planned too down there - it's always exciting to show someone around that hasn't been to WDW before! :thumbsup2

PoohPrincess - that stinks about the boss not being very understanding about these things. Hopefully, once he/she hears of your happy news, they'll work with you on appointments. I know my OB office does appointments as early as 7 or 7:30 once you have an established pregnancy. I know that will help me to not lose so much work whenever we get a BFP again. GL! :goodvibes

Michelle - looks like we'll be testing at about the same time! I'll test on Sunday if AF hasn't shown up by then. It's a weird month for my temps, and I'm having no PMS symptoms really, so I don't know what to think. :confused3 Of course despite all my best efforts to not get my hopes up, I'm still hoping and hoping and hoping...

PoohPrincess - hope your boss is understanding and all the work stuff goes okay for you. Hopefully they'll cooperate with you on Dr. appointments and such.

Emily & Michelle - have fun at WDW! I wish I could go in the near future, but it does look like I might get a "girlfriends" trip in to DLR this spring, and of course there's the "big" trip for May or June.

Thanks, everyone, for all the encouragement about our trip. To be honest, when we started planning it never even occured to me to think about being pregnant on our vacation! :rotfl: This despite the fact that it seems like all I CAN think about is getting pregnant! So we're still planning on taking that trip, and now I just have to decide between doing a short (7 day) river cruise on the Danube or a 7 day Alaska cruise. We might end up doing the Alaska cruise because a) it's cheaper and b) so far all the Danube cruises we've found are catering to seniors and DH says it would make him feel old to be cruising with only retired people. I said it would make me feel young, so bring it on! :rotfl2:

Imarried, the only thing to think about with a cruise is that most cruises will not allow you to cruise after 24-27 weeks, doctors note or not. Just keep that in mind while planning a trip. I did go on a cruise with mostly old people. Other than being stuck at the late supper, it was a lot of fun for us!

Emily, I do hope you have fun planning for the trip! I know that our vacation was exactly what my DH and I needed! I really want to do it again, but not sure financially we can swing WDW... might go to HH or something like that instead. DVC is great, but sometimes I just can't fork over the cost of admission and flights.

Poohprincess, best of luck with work. That would be awful to me... however if this is a place that doesn't like someone taking off for legit reasons, would you want to stick it out after a baby? I just hope it works out for the best!

Michelle, I am sure you will have a blast at AKL. It is a beautiful resort! Never stayed, but visited a few times. I'm jealous you get to go on company dime :p

Not much going on here at the moment. For a minute I was trying to figure out where I was in the way of CD, but I think I give up on that. I would imagine I am a week or so behind y'all who will be able to test this weekend though. Sending lots of baby dust all y'alls way!

ImarriedGrumpy- Just check with the cruise line. The alaskan cruises are way diff from the caribbean ones b/c you are never out on open water. They take the inside passage and most of the time you can actuall see land off one side of the ship. :) And whales...you can see lots of whales :)

I am a travel agent and I don't think it matters where the cruise goes they don't want to be liable if something happens. Also remember passports even though you do not technically need it if you get stuck in a foriegn country you will not be able to get back into the country

I know for Carnival--it is there policy period. Regardless of where you are cruising too.

Their policy is after 24 weeks--no cruising.

The reason--they are not equipped to handle pre-term labor. There is no text book definition of how long it takes to have a baby and only a standard definition of how long baby is supposed to cook. So it is partially liability--but also just straight logic as they don't have the means for post-partum care and newborn care.

Just found this to help out
http://www.cruise.com/special_cruises/expectant.html

it seems all absolutely refuse an expectant mother after the 3rd trimester. The exact week (some seem to vary between 24 & 27) varies, but the rule is absolute. I'd just hate for someone to plan a cruise and then be denied due to the rules. All probably cite what both Lisas said, they cannot take that liability as they are not equipped to handle a preterm labor.

Hey ladies :goodvibes

CD 8 and still Low fertility on the monitor. So we are doing the every-other-night BD'ing thing. Hoping hoping hoping that is works this time. If I do get pregnant I will be just about showing when we go to WDW. My DH will have to ride the rides by himself but I'm OK with it....which is strange because I LOVE LOVE LOVE RnRC and TOT but I will be happy shopping for baby stuff and watching fireworks, swimming, floating in the lazy rivers.......

I've got my fingers crossed for those who are about to test pixiedust: pixiedust:

yeah, I knew about the 3rd tri part. :) I just meant to check about which week the cut off is since, although there isn't a huge diff between 24 and 27, it can make a diff in a trip :)

I absolutely agree with taking a passport, just makes this easier, especially with the changing passport rules for getting back to the US (I know they will be requiring passports for everyone but am not sure about the year of when it will be)

:goodvibes See now, this is yet another reason why I love you guys - a found of information for me! Thanks for all the pregnant cruising info. I will definitely count out those weeks if we get the BFP this weekend (still have those fingers crossed...). Heyyy...maybe if the cruise timing wouldn't work I could convince DH to go to WDW instead! :rolleyes1 Yeah...fat chance! :rotfl2:

Edited to add - DH and I almost always use our passports when we fly these days. Dh used to "misplace" his drivers licence and couldn't remember which pocket it was in and have a big ol' hissy fit in his panic...I got tired of the drama and suggested we switch to using passports since they're bigger and harder to "misplace" in a random pocket. Peace has been restored! :)
