I think that the line on the OPK has to be as dark ora darker than the test line for it to e postive. Untlike the HPT. HOpe that heps.

Hi Ash....

Good for you - have some wine!! :thumbsup2

I do know that the line should be darker, which would tell me that I have O'd. But, I was wondering if after you O - does the line get lighter? I didn't know if maybe I O'd much earlier this month - and just missed it. :sad2: The line was a bit darker a couple of days ago - but not a positive OPK. O well...I guess we will keep bd'ing just in case!! ;)

alway s good to keep bdins' just in case ya know. ;) but what my test said was that if the test was postibe, being that the line awas dark or dark ter than the test line you should O in 24 hrs. But I nebver got a Postive OPK last motn so I wonder how accute they really are.

I posted about a week or two ago, which means several pages back! lol I am the one with two cysts and also older in age (41) and had to get an ultrasound last week to check on the cysts. Good news!!! The complex one is completely gone and the water filled one was 1/2 the size it was originally, so we got the go ahead!!! yea!

I halfway thru my cycle last month started charting the temps and yesterday(Tuesday), TCOYF charting system told me I was started to be fertile and when I tested with the OPK(I have been testing for several days) today, it told me I was going to be Oing in the next 24 - 36 hours. Since this was my first real month charting, I was happily surprized that the charting worked! I mean I know they say it does but looking at my temps and other signs I could tell I was going to get a positive either today or tomorrow. It can actually work!!! I know this probably won't happen every month, but this one it did. Oh, this is cd9, so I am early in my cycle.

Ok, I have a question, we bd today. :thumbsup2 Do we need to again either tomorrow or the day after?

Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!

If you're Oing, I'd BD consecutively the next three days, then go back to every other day. GL!

Hi! I dont have a definate answer to your quesiton but I just wanted to say hello and wish you the best of luck ttc! I know that a lot of people say that you shoudl bd every other day during your fertile period, but i've also heard that unless you have been told to that you can also bd every day around the time of your O. we've tried it both ways but nothing yet (see i told you i'd be a lot of help) maybe someone else can tell you something more definate, but good luck!

From what I understand, the line gets darker and darker as you approach O, and then after you O it gets light again and dissapears - I believe the LH that the OPK's are testing for rises as you get close to O, and peaks when you O (the darkest line), and then it goes away and so the OPK's won't register it anymore.

I'm not sure how well they all work - my OPK's so far are saying that I haven't O'd, but my temps seem to say that I did. :confused3 I guess I'll keep using the OPK's and see what happens, and if nothing else I'll take a pregnancy test on Dec 2 if AF hasn't shown up by then. According to fertility friend, our BD times give us "good" odds of getting a BFP if I O'd when it thinks I did. I just don't know what to think!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, we started trying again this month after my miscarriage in September. Oddly enough, the big "O" days were during our cruise last week... So we did the BD a few times. Of course, now poor DH is sick and isn't interested in doing much other than laying down and watching t.v....hehehe...

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Hope the pg ladies were able to enjoy the great food and the TTC girls were able to get some alone time with their honeys. It's not easy when mom is sleeping next door. :)

Things are going great here. We had our big ultrasound on Wednesday and we are happy to report that "Bob" looks great. Everthing looks healthy and "Bob" is growing right on track. Also turns out that "Bob" is a girl!! Whoops, so much for female intuition!

Had to share our great news! Happy Holidays!!!

I also hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We spent the day with my inlaws...no baby talk from them so it was nice. :) We spent today getting our Christmas tree and decorating outside. This is our first christmas in our new house and our ceilings are high so we got a 11 foot christmas tree! DH thinks I'm nuts for spending so much money on a real tree, but I've always had a real tree. :)

Also, on Wednesday, we traded in my 1999 corolla for a 2007 Camry. Woo Hoo! So now we have room in my car for a new baby, and it has latch and tons of airbags so we'll be much safer....now we just have to make a baby. :) Today is CD 13 for me...I've been temping but no sign of O yet. I think I O late and since this is my first month of temping I guess I'll find out for sure.

Alison..Congrats on your baby girl!! How fun! I hope your nursery has a HUGE closet for all of that cute girl clothes!

Congrats Allison!!! :) How exciting to find out "Bob" is a baby girl!! :goodvibes

We had a great turkey day - ended up sharing our news with both families yesterday!! We made our parents VERY happy!! After 6 years of marriage, they had apparently given up on us having kids. LOL :rotfl: We found out that my mother-in-law has been buying stuff for her first grandbaby for about 4 years now!! :rotfl2: So, since our baby will be the first on both sides, they'll be getting lots of attention to say the least!

We had a great Thanksgiving & I feel so much better that the families are in on our special secret now. I definitely ate too much & am still recovering today. We got our lights up outside the house this morning & I've been working on the tree today while hubby is at work. Tomorrow is time for Christmas cookie baking!!! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is doing well!! :)

Glad to hear everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!! Now time for Christmas, right!! :santa:

Well, apparently I O'd very early this month - last Saturday!! DH and I happened to bd on that day, so that is good! But, we hadn't for about 3 days prior. I usually O on CD 18 - so this was about 5 days early for us. So, the good news is I am already 7 DPO - so half the 2WW is over already! ;)

Today we are hanging Christmas lights outside. DH is making me very nervous on top of the house with the ladder. But, I am sure it will look very pretty once it is done.

Congrats Allison on your baby girl!! :goodvibes

Allison, congrats on the girl :)

Michelle  No, it isn't fair that it is so hard for so many people. It isn't fair that my friend who had been trying a long time miscarried at about 7 weeks... it isn't fair that after 10 months I had the D&C at 12. A LOT isn't fair... and yes, it really sucks. I won't say it any other way either. There are so many who would be wonderful moms and dads who have that pain to go through (whether IVF, IUI, taking clomid, suffering multiple miscarriages or even just unexplained infertility). Just try not to be angy about it if you can, I know that can be totally consuming. I do hope that next month will work for you! For us, we have to wait until probably Jan or Feb before we can go at it again... one year gone.

We had a decent trip. There was one point on TG day that I just had to go upstairs and cry. Fortunately only Luis' grandma was asking when we are having kids in Spanish so it was easy for Luis' mom to step in and say whenever God wants it. She asked Luis himself as well... then we had one person stop by ask us too about having kids. She had no idea what went on, but she was saying how smart we were for not having kids yet. For the most part, we did okay.

Glad to hear so many of you had a great holiday :)

Aww...congrats Allison! Any names picked out yet??

I feel...weird...this weekend. I started getting kind of tired yesterday, and today I just feel like 100 extra pounds is sitting on top of me. I don't know why. I hope I'm not getting sick.

I decided the next time I do get pregnant, I will probably keep the news to myself for a little while. It was sooo hard to have to explain to everyone what happened. I may even keep it a secret from DH...he has a birthday the first week of January...if I did get preggers, that would be an interesting gift for him... :)

Congratulations, Allison! Have fun shopping for all the trendy little outfits!

Kelly- I hope you hit your mark this month! Even if you know you're o'ing, it's so hard to tell (for me at least) just when the right time to bd is! Hopefully you got it in your window! And for God's sake, tell your dh to be careful! I can't get mine to go up this year since we have a 2 story. :(

:grouphug: to Helena. Try to keep busy over the holidays until it's time again. I've been through it, just hang in there. That's all you can do.

AF is due the 28th for me. I took a test today (the 25th), and of course a bfn! I was turning that dammm thing at every angle searching for even a faint clue, and nothing. I know it may just be too soon to test, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. At least if it is a bfn, we leave for Florida on Friday, and everything's happy at Disney. :earsboy:

Stephanie, hope you aren't getting sick. I can understand why you don't want to tell people. Fortunately we didn't tell a whole bunch of people. I don't think I could ever keep it from my husband though... he's been the best support. I do hope you have good news for his birthday though.

Kellyfan, keeping my fingers crossed for you. I will do my best to keep busy during hte holidays, though this isn't my favorite time of year ;) However, I sounded worse off than I am. I do cry, but I realize it just wasn't our time or meant to be. This is much better than anything that could have been wrong with the baby. Hopefully the right time will happen. Knowing how many have gone through this before and gone on to have perfectly healthy babies does give me a lot of hope. Come Jan or Feb, I will just take it as it comes... the stress of trying to get pregnant was too much so we'll just have fun then ;)

Really our trip was good and the tactless family members kept their mouths shut ;) Actually we met my BIL's girlfriend. I swear he is much more tolerable with her around :teeth: We've had issues with his parents in the past, so we do hope that this trip helped bridge a gap between us.

Hope everyone had a pretty good weekend. I feel like I'm getting sick too. My chest hurts and I can't take a deep breath, I don't know what that's about.

Kelly - Yes, hopefully DH and I hit the mark. Today and yesterday I have incredibly sore bbs. Possibly just b/c AF is due next weekend, but who knows. ;) I am trying to stay positive - although as each month goes by, I now expect the BFN. So, we will see. I took a HPT tonight (8 DPO), and it was a BFN. But, it is still early. I will try to hold off until Thursday to take another one (12 DPO).

Back to work tomorrow. Long weekends go by so quickly!! Hope eveyone has a good week! :goodvibes
