Ash is pregnant, Ash is pregnant, Ash is pregnant! Have you told anyone yet? Yes, use the "I'm pregnant so no stress allowed" excuse a lot. It works!

When I was PG, I had to take progesterone suppositories every morning and ever night. I had to lie down for 20-40 minutes afterwards. It was lovely because DH had to do all the cooking for the entire 8 weeks! I would come home from work, do my thing, lie on the couch, and veg. It was wonderful!

I told my parents and brother and sister. And DH told his mom and brother and sister. Then my brother and sister told their children. So my nieces told their great aunt and grandmother and some random people at the hospital where my 6 year old niece had her tonsils taken out. And then my mom also admitted that she also told my aunt, even though she was supposed to wait until after today, but evidently she couldn't. And I also told my two best friends. Word travels fast.

Denae, I asked a few and they said their bill was about $7K here on average. Insurance covers the rest. I suspect that is the negotiated fees for the hospital with them. This wasn't just my doctor fee, but everythign since they did ask which hospital I would deliver at (I only had two choices and one was where my mom died so no go there). Just as a point of reference, my D&C was about $800 on the bill, sadly it would have cost us almost as much to have had the baby as it did for D&C out of pocket

Woo hoo Ash!!!!! I am so happy for you! Good luck with telling your DH about the payments ;)

Well it's official now, I'm really pregnant! I have my first prenatal appointment on April 17. My due date is December 2nd! :woohoo:

WOO HOO ASHLEY!! :woohoo: :woohoo: So cool to see your ticker and to know you're going to end the year with one of the most precious gifts ever! CONGRATS GIRL!! :thumbsup2

AF today:sad1: I am extremely disappointed. I was harboring a secret hope that this would be the month.

 Next week is the week for me...I'm not feeling any different so far so I'm sure AF will be visiting me as well.

Congrats, Ash! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

My computer has been in getting "fixed" (ha, again) and I'm waaaay behind.

I had my growth u/s yesterday. Turns out she's still a girl, she's measuring a week ahead crown to rump (so, my due date by her size is 6/5), she's 3.29lbs, and she's head down. All of her measurements are right on. Her abdomen measures small, but that's because she's lean.

I gained half a pound (woo-hoo!). I'll be lighter after the birth than I was before I got pregnant. Not that I'm complaining, of course.

I have to go back and get caught up.

I did want to say something about Folic Acid. You really can't take too much of it. I take 5mg per day. That's MG, not MCG, so I'm on over 10x the normal dose. The only time Folic Acid becomes a problem is if you've had methotrexate for an ectopic or a miscarriage. But, they do recommend 800mcg for pre-natal and for early pregnancy and a lot of pre-natal vitamins have 1,000mcg. So, don't worry about overdosing. If anyone was going to OD, it would have been me! :goodvibes

You are right, You can't overdose on Folic Acid. I worked for a Rheumatologist and Methotrexate was used as a first line treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis and we had many patients on as much as 5mg+ of Folic Acid to curb some of the side effects. I haven't heard of using Methotrexate for ectopic preg or m/c, I do know that it is used in large doses for some types of cancer. Every Prenatal vitamin I have ever looked at has at least 800mcg's in it, I have never seen it with any less or more. the only reason I pass up prenatals is because of the amount of iron.

Hey guys = wanted to update.

We welcomed our sweet second son, Noah, into the world on 3/28/07. It was quite the day - placental abruption and a clot in his cord. His heartrate dropped to about 60 for a good chunk of time and I had a very emergency c/s. He ended up aspirating on blood.

He was transferred to Children's Hospital and is getting some wonderful care. We don't know everything yet, but they think he will have some severe neurological issues. He will have an MRI this coming week.

I will try and update as I can...they have internet here, so when I will update when I can. Please keep us in your prayers...

Minnesota - you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers :grouphug:

If anyone is interested, I looked at the breakdown for my expenses and it shows a total billed of $17,865.50, total discount of $12,973.02, and total cost of care of $4,892.48, so this is closer to Helena's figures. But I did receive a separate bill in the mail today for the baby's hospital care, totalling $3,565.75. This bill is directly from the hospital, b/c the insurance company hasn't paid yet, so I don't know the breakdown. That brings the grand total to $21,431.25!!!

Oh, Minnesota! How scarey!! Little Noah, as well as you and the rest of your family, will definitely be in my thoughts.

Oh dear... I will certainly keep you all and the medical staff in my thoughts and prayers

I'm on CD30 and still no AF. Wow. I'm nervous because I know my body is still regulating and I don't want to get my hopes up, but I mean my last period showed up what seemed like immediately after coming off the pill on CD24. So I'm only about a week late. I'm going to wait til CD35 because that's where I was when I was on the pill. I have a Pap Smear scheduled for April 10th, so we'll see what happens. It's a full moon also and AF was famous for showing up around that time. I don't have the AF symptons though. I'll keep you posted and Minnesota you and the little baby are in my thoughts. What a great name Noah...it's Hebrew and it means peace or rest. My prayers are with him.

I have these little tinges in my lower abdomen like AF is coming, but it's not her. The girls aren't sensitive so much as they are annoying! I'm constantly adjusting my bra and as usual they itch every now and again....often!! :rolleyes1

Didn't you have an extended hospital stay though? :)

Minnesota!, welcome to baby Noah! What an exciting and stressful time for you. Best wishes for him and keep us posted.

And Pollito, congrats on Alex! What a cutie!

Miinesota! - I'll keep Noah in my thoughts. How scary for you guys. Hope everything is going better now. As for the neuro stuff, they can only make an educated guess at his age. It's hard to do a lot of neuro testing until they're older.

Carla - Glad she's doing well! And she's still a she! I was reassures this week to have another u/s a make sure he was still a boy, and nothing fell off over the winter..... A week early is never a bad thing (personally, I'm starting to hope for 2-3 weeks :) He's getting heavy)

Tiggerlover91 - good luck with testing! I always hated trying to figure out when to test.

Skuttle - you never know til AF actually shows up. I was convinced there was no way the month I actually got pregnant. Keep thinking positive thoughts!

Take care ladies!

Jen
