Skuttle - Honetly, if you can be quiet in your hotel room, your son will be none the wiser.

If you, or your husband, are too uncomfortable with that however - you can try a "home" insemination. You can pick up the Instead Cups at most CVS or Walgreen pharmacies. Your husband can use the bathroom and make a 'deposit' directly into the cup, then you just insert the cup up next to the cervix similarly to a diaphram. (although I imagine the cup is a lot easier to use) Then just go to sleep and remove it in the morning!

We've had a difficult time this year as well. After Lydia died, I just avoided places that I might come across babies. We got the go-ahead to start trying again last January and within two months, no less than 6 of my friends got pregnant! Its so hard to feel jealous, bitter, and congratulatory at the same time.

What is even more awkward is feeling like I'm letting so many people down, because of my position as a surrogate.

I get to take a pregnancy test on the 28th. If we dont get a BFP, I don't know if we're going to try again and my Intended Parents may give up trying for children entirely.

Emily ~ Im terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. I hope you can find some comfort in the holidays and the love of your family.

I am so sorry, Emily! :( I hope that Christmas will not be too difficult and that you will have a great one despite this tragedy.

Merry Christmas to all of you that are ttc! Hopefully you all will have BFPs soon!

I am so sorry emily about the misscarriage. I have never had one thank God but infertility is difficult no matter what the circumstances. Merry Christmas Everyone

Emily, I am so sorry for you. I haven't been through a miscarriage, but if you need to talk, I'm here. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry Emily. I had a natural m/c in August (not a D&C) at 8 weeks so if you need to talk, please don't hesitate to pm me. I'm here for you.
I'm so sorry.

Hope everyone is enjoying your Christmas Day!!!

So did you all get what you wanted from Santa???

I guess I was a bad girl this year because Santa brought me AF :(

On to next year.....

Hi Gang!

Well, our luggage got delayed, so I couldn't temp or use the OPK's until mid-day on Saturday. Then when I began to use my pee cup, I discovered that it had cracked in transit! YIKES! I had to scramble to find a back up plan without announcing why I needed a disposable cup or two...

And DH and I did get a bedroom with a door, but it was right next to my parent's room. Still, I'm so close to O'ing, so we did BD for Sun and Mon. My temps this morning are still low, but the OPK showed up with a positive today, so here's to hoping we can get the timing right again this month, parent's house or not! Wouldn't it be great to have a baby conceived on Christmas Day? :)

The 3 nephews are just adorable, and of course made my heart ache for one of my own. I think Dsis feels like she's in a race with me to get the BFP first of the two of us. She's been trying much longer, but has PCOS and other complications. I don't want it to be a competition, but I do want my baby!

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Rebecca, sorry about the old hag showing up

Fingers crossed for you Grumpy! I admit we've been too tired to even think about BDing

Emily, my thoughts are still with you...

I hope you all had a great holiday. Ours was good, busy and tiresome... glad the busy part is over!

Good luck, imarriedgrumpy!

Rebecca, so sorry about AF. :(

Elaine, I hear ya about the busy and tiresome!!

We had a nice day. Luckily we convinced our immediate family (parents and DH's sister and her family to come over to our house for Christmas. We live about 1.5 hours from everyone, so we usually always go back to our hometown for holidays. We've officially taken Christmas!

My MIL actually brought up the baby talk today. When I was pregnant with DS, we told everyone at Christmas back in 2002, so I think they think about it every Christmas. I was able to smile and just said, "whenever it happens."

I want to try to get our Christmas stuff all down tomorrow that way I can prepare for our trip the rest of the week! After the trip, there won't be anything to keep my mind of TTC, so hopefully we have some disney magic next week!

Hi everyone...just checking in to say Merry Christmas! My first appointment was today...just a lot of Q&A, a pap smear (fun stuff - found out I have a yeast infection), and bloodwork. Next appointment is January 23rd to hear the heartbeat. DH are keeping our fingers crossed that things go well....so far so good....but we are still cautiously excited.

Emily....I am so sorry to hear your news. Know that we are all here for you, praying for you, and supporting you 100%. :grouphug:

Hi Ladies. Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. Well, I was going to come and post that we are "Officially" trying now.
I don't know if you all remember around Thanksgiving I was having a problem adjusting to being off BCP. My cycle was running long and I wasn't sure what was going on. I called my cousin who is a nurse and ran it all by her, she suggested I go to Target and get a test (said not to use the Dollar Store ones), so off I went. I got a digital one because they had a good price on them. Well....I came home and there was no "not" in front of my "Pregnant". So...I got my BFP. I am so excited and nervous...it is my best present this year by far.

Emily, I am so sorry :( I went through what you're going through in September, so if you need to talk to someone, please pm me. Big hugs...

I know there will be no BFP this month, 'cause the hubs and I did only 1 BD this month...our work hours have been way different, and when we are together, we've been out at Disney or shopping...by the time it's time for bed, we both immediately zonk out ;)

He did tell me yesterday that once this cycle is done (AF should start on Monday or Tuesday), then we are going full steam ahead on the BDing again. He came up to me tonight and asked me if I liked Clancy for a boy's name...(uhh...I didn't..lol) then said that he hopes my AF will go by quickly ;)

I know I don't post much on this thread but I am rooting for all of you as I lurk here frequently.

Emily, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I hope the holidays were still relaxing and fun for you and your DH.

Well, I got a BFP on December 15th, I couldn't believe it. I was 16 dpo. DH and I were so excited! But, on Christmas Eve I had a bit of brown spotting (sorry if TMI) and so it was a worrisome day for us. I went in for an early ultrasound yesterday and they said everything looks good.

I'm still worried though - on the ultrasound the only things they could see was the yolk sack and gestational sack. No embryo, no heartbeat. They didn't seem concerned, but of course my mind still thinks "What does that mean?!?" I calculated myself (by LMP) to be 5 weeks and 5 days, but they said that I was measuring at 4.5 weeks. :confused3

So either I ovulated/conceived later than I thought or things are not progressing as they should. I'm desperately hoping for the first option!

Poohprincess and SDFGirl - Congrats!

SDFGirl - I had the same thing happen at an early u/s. I ended up measuring earlier than I thought, too and they had me come back a week or so later to re-test, and everything was fine then. Are they going to re-check? Good luck!

Thanks Denae, that's reassuring. Yes, they want me to come back in 10 days for another ultrasound. I'm hoping and praying to see something!

At your first u/s, did they see the embryo? They couldn't see mine but they said at 4.5 weeks it would be too early.

Wow...two BFP for Christmas...You go girls!!!! :cheer2: Congratulations!!!!

Well..still spotting here...have never spotted for this long...EVER. Stupid Clomid. :sad2: I don't think I will try Clomid this next cycle. My friend (who is now 11 weeks) is letting me borrow her Fertiltiy Monitor and if you are using Clomid it can screw up your results so now if AF would just start to flow (TMI lol) We can get this show on the road.

Hope everyone is recovering nicely from your overindulgences (i'm still on a sugar high from all the yummy desserts). :yay:
