Elaine...thanks for all the info on POAS tests you like. My OPK First Response tests were horrible too - the line was barely there, and then I took a generic CVS brand one, and it was so dark!! I will make sure to get some Clear Blue Easy POAS tests when I do get more. Have a great trip!! Hopefully you will come back to a lot of BFP here!!!

Carla - so glad to hear that you have a happy healthy babe in there. What is your official EDD?

I think that I would just go ahead and do the fence now, if possible. When we still lived in CA, we refinanced our home equity loan without having an appraisal or anything done. We did have lots of equity in the house though, and the market was really hot then - maybe things have changed now and you might need to get the appraisal done. Maybe just look into it, and if the costs seem too high, wait until spring?

Kellyf - you are still really early. I wouldn't give up. If you can't wait, go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of their tests. Painting is fine - just keep the room well ventilated.

Becky- we'll miss you!! And I 2nd the idea of using friends' computers if you can. I know some of our friends use our what they come over. Of course, I wouldn't stay on it for hours or anything.

Carla- You know, if the chickens are on your property...they are yours. You can always just catch one and make killer chicken soup. Yummy!

Becky - just wanted to add my thanks for starting this thread, and say we'll miss you! I don't know what I'd do without this group. It's the only place I have to really vent about TTC and share all the gory details that no one else really wants to know! I've learned so much here and it's great to have a safe place to ask all those embarassing questions...

I am still not officially ttc yet (and won't be for at least a year...possibly longer) but I wanted to let you know, Becky, that I too love this thread. It is a great resource for when we do finally start ttc and the ladies on here are all so helpful, nice, and supportive.

I also am not sure if I told you this or not but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the name Vaylie! It is unique, yet beautiful. Good luck! I can't wait to hear about princess Vaylie's arrival. And of course we want pictures too!

some jerk has posted a poll on the community board this morning inquiring as to whether people think that embroyos for stem cell research and IVF are unethical and then they posted that they think it is unethical for people to create embroyos for IVF use and not use them all and let them die and that is unethical.

It sent me through the roof and I posted a very nasty response which is probably a violation of these boards and will be deleted by the mods but I was **So** angry that some idiot like the other poster could accuse people like me who are going through IVF that we are doing something unethical by not implanting 10 eggs in our bodies -- or if we have a baby not going ahead and continuing to have more babies until all the eggs are used up...

Nicole, I don't normally wish infertility on anyone, but I really hope one of his kids is infertile and needs IVF. I mean, I hope it works for them, of course, but I hope they need it. What a moron. He really has no clue - it's a total myth that every couple has dozens of embryos dying in a cryobank. And, as a fool, he just buys right into it and drinks all the Kool-Aid.

Also glad to see I was not the only one offended by the stupid pole!

And you are right Carla - I guess I would never wish infertility on anyone else either but there are some people that are so awful (including some of these insurance people) that you kind of feel if they could walk one step in your shoes maybe they would become better human beings themselves.

Now I am going to calm down and try to get some work done.

I bet seeing that u/s was the best thing! What is your EDD? Have you told IRL yet? On the fence - I would approach the neighbor as others have said. Tell him that you need this fence up, and that you would like him to split the cost. If he says no, then I would wait until spring. Put the $$ down, lock in, and then get it up in the spring.

Elaine - SOOOO jealous of your trip. Have a fantastic time! I still have 25 months left until our next trip But, I am already planning it in my head! So can't wait! Eat something sinful for me!

Nicole - what a moron! Until you have walked in these shoes, no judgements should be made. I think IVF/IUI/Infertility in general can make a person stronger AND the best parent they can be. You know not to take things for granted. Hell, would you have thought in high school that it wouldn't "just happen"? That it would take all this intervention to get you to something that SHOULD be so natural? Screw those people, man!

Well first of all Y2L is anything but a moron. She is a Critical Care nurse in a large hospital, a Single Mom responsible for raising a teen boy, and works her *** off many hours a week saving the lives of desperately ill patients. I suppose that if we were going to go around wishing ill on people, one might wish that they hope that somebody you love is in NEED of her services someday. oh wait, but of course I would hope that she really would provide the services.

Also, if you knew her Y2L is also fairly liberal in her stances on Medical Ethics. She is FOR not only IVF and stem cell research, she is also FOR all sorts of patients rights such as a patients right to die. There was nothing in her Poll to indicate otherwise. You and your friend assumed and attacked which I think says much about your own mental status.

Tell her that there is a special place in hell reserved for her was nothing short of uncalled for and I hope it does get deleted.

I am so sorry that this thread has been linked now to the Poll about embroyos with IVF -- people are now hijacking our TTC thread. I am so sorry!

Carla - I am especially sorry to you since you have been brought into the fray.

The thing I loved most about this thread was that it was so supportive in nature and now I feel like it has been taken over by angry other posters who just want to bash us because of things said in another post.

Them linking this thread to the poll thread was uncalled for.

We have all commented on numerous occassions in this thread that unless people go through infertility - it is hard for them to understand what we have gone through. Those on the other thread have taken that to mean we wish infertility on others -- we all know that is not the case and I am truly sorry that this thread has been dragged into that mess.

I am shocked at the cruelty that runs rampant on these boards -- someone actually posted that God made me infertile for a reason...it is amazing to me that people can say things like that.

Anyway my friends -- just too much stress and I feel bad for my part in causing it and leading it to our wonderful thread.

You are correct - I did "bring that thread to this one" because I was shocked by it and wanted to vent to the other girls on this board TTC...and I am now apoligizing to these girls that the thread has been hijacked by people who are NOT TTC but who have now come to this thread to further post about the poll - as you have done.

This thread is obviously open to all who wish to post here - but I would ask that you keep your comments about me and the poll stuff to the poll thread and let the girls of the TTC thread have their space to vent and talk about TTC.
