Last trip we were on the DDP and got to experience so many great restaurants. This year the plan doesn't work for a family of our size :sad2: so dh is being a party pooper and suggesting we eat at as many off site restaurants as possible and limit our onsite restaurants to ones we haven't done or ones that won't totally break the bank. We've never been to the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Do you think it's worth making ADRs there?

Absolutely! Also, we love Ohana. Try to book it a night that the fireworks are going on and time it so you watch them from the restaurant! You can also catch the boat parade from there too! Enjoy!

We really enjoyed WCC it was loud and fun!
My SIL had no clue :rotfl: so we made sure she asked for ketchup it was great!

So if you like fun & Loud go for it!:thumbsup2

If you're party enjoys laughing (occasionally at themselves), WCC is great. The food is good, not outstanding, but solid, but the dining "experience" is worth the fun. Our waitress made my husband skip around the room singing a goofy song. My kids loved it! Most of the room enjoyed the time, though I saw one family of four who obviously weren't expecting that type of meal. We will be going back again on our next trip.

I heard many great reviews of WCC. I enjoyed it but my 6 kids, ages 1-12 at the time, did not care for it at all; neither did DH. The kids did enjoy asking for ketchup, though. The rest of it they just thought was weird. I thought they would have loved it. I am glad we did it once but we probably won't go again.

My six year old LOVED wcc. we had a blast, just make sure you are not sat in the back of the dining room. You won't get to have as much fun back there. Ask the server if they would like some gum and ask for a LITTLE water.

Enjoy.

We went last October and really liked it. My DD (17 months at the time) was not in a good mood and our waitress recognized that and offered to get her a milkshake on the house. It was so great! DD sucked on that thing all dinner and DH and I were able to enjoy our food.

We really liked the food and the shakes were awesome. I would recommend it. You can walk around WL after and visit the ducks. :)

We always always have to eat here every trip. My husband loves to go here. We usually end up eating lunch or dinner. We love the antics and joking here and our food has always been quite good!

I work in emergency medicine and unfortunately I witness people die every week. Life is just really waay to short, you have to have fun. My family and I have no problem letting our hair down. We have never found WCC wait staff to be obnoxiuos or anything like I have read here at time. Yes, they may be loud...but gosh darn...its too funny! The last time we were there, we had to be involved in a kissing contest. It was my hubby and I vs another couple celebrating anniversaries (we had pins on). We were more than twice their age...and married 5 times as long...I laughed so hard...we lost...lol

have a great time!

We had a blast there.. the kids thought it was hysterical!

Thanks for all the input and the great pics Esmerelda and 1000happyhaunts! My oldest dd and ds are painfully shy but love to watch their other siblings interact with people! Looks like Whispering Canyon is a go for our family!:goodvibes

Our family hated it...............too loud and rude waitress who yells at you. Even my dd said (she was 4) "mama she is not being nice". Sorry but I don;t like those type of antics!

Yes, but it is not for everyone. We liked it, the food was good, and our waiter was great. If too many people in the party are shy and not out-going, it could be uncomfortable for them.

It's not the exactly the same but you could try O'Hana first. Similar food quality with an interactive experience, albiet completely voluntary here (unlike at WCC). You can try and time the fireworks, but if that doesn't work, walk down to the beach area, you get a great view.

Moving from the Review Board to the Restaurant Board for more reponses :thumbsup2

My family loves WCC. As many have already said, you have to have a sense of humor. We went once for my DS 8th birthday. They had him sit in the middle of the room and had all the girls of the resturant come to sing to him and then they all had to give him a kiss. :lmao:

We just went in January for the first time. We loved it!!! We had a waitress who's name tag said Lesley, but her name was Chante and she made the whole meal!!! Make sure to ask for a large drink!!! Have fun!!!!

Awesome Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich on the Lunch menu only. At night, the only way to get pulled pork is to get the all-you-can-eat skillet.
