Any Opinions on Thrifty Car Rental?

I reserved a car with Thrifty for my daughter and it appears to be about $40 cheaper than anything I can find for any of the car rentals at the airport at Orlando MCO. I have always used the on airport car rental agencies but for a 4.5 mile shuttle ride Thrifty seems very tempting. Just wondered if anyone has used them? Any opinions? Thanks.

I've used Thrifty several times all with good results. The shuttle ride is short and the Thrifty agents were fast. I'm sure I was on my way quicker than some of the on-site rental agencies.

We also used Thrifty our last time out (November) and had no problems. I would suggest that even though you found a good deal on it, reserve it and keep checking every day as the rates change. We eventually got ours for less than $13.00/day which was cheaper than what we had originally reserved.

I've used them four times already and have a reservation for my March vacation. I think they're great. One thing you should definetly do is sign your daughter up for their Blue Chip program and call them and add it to you reservation. The last time I was there was a Wednesday night around 11:30pm and there were at least 20 people in the regular line. But since I'm a Blue Chip member, I went to a seperate counter and just had to sign the forms and drive off! I'm sooo happy I didn't have to wait in the regular line!

Thanks to all for the tips. FYI the rate I found through Southwest Airlines seemed the best for now. And you are correct that one has to keep re-checking. I will look into the Blue Chip program.

We used Thrifty in November last year and they were great! I was nervous about it, but everything went fine. Just asked them how to get back to the lot to return the car, you just have to circle around, nothing hard but we took the wrong turn into the parking lot.

Hi, we rented from Thrifty just this past week. We reserved using the Blue Chip, and THAT made all the difference. We arrived late but on the same day that the Home Builders Convention started at the Convention Center. I was very afraid that there wouldn't be any cars available when I got there. So we landed and my husband and kids waited for our luggage while I caught the shuttle. It took about 10 minutes before the shuttle arrived while at least three shuttles from Hertz and Enterprise had come and gone. Thrifty also has a self-park parking lot that they drop people off at prior to dropping off the car renters. That took some additional time. By the time I got to the rental counter a half-hour had gone by. I was the only one in the Blue Chip line (while the other line was about 15 people deep). It took about two minutes and I had my key and my car and I was headed out the door. They wound up giving me a bigger car than I had requested without any price increase. Five minutes later I picked up my family at the airport. We also got a very good rate. I would definitely use them again.

My daughter used Thrifty. Signed up for the Blue Chip program. No problems with the shuttle and she bypassed the line using the Blue Chip program. Thanks to everyone for their information.
