Any one stay at the new Homeward Suites ? Need for one night only

We are DVC members looking to add a day in the area we need one extra night at a hotel not on site because $300 or more a night is crazy . Is the Homeward Suites close and is it nice ?? Any suggestions n where to stay ?? It will only be three of us me , DH and DS

My brother stayed one night at the new Homewood Suites last month before switching over to the Grand for the rest of his stay. It was him, his wife, and two little ones. He really liked how new the property was and how much space they had to spread out. He was also convinced that they ate at least $50 of food there compared to having to go eat somewhere else. They were there for a weeknight so were able to take advantage of the evening meal and breakfast the next day. He didn't talk about the distance from the park, but my understanding is that the property is located a short walk away from the Toy Story parking lot so the shuttles to and from there to the parks are a definite transportation option. It would be a longish walk to the park. If it were me, I might be enthused about walking in the morning and then grab a shuttle back at night. It sounds like park distance may not be a factor for you if this is a night before or after your Disney time. For transferring between there and the Grand though, I would think you would need a car or taxi for all the people and luggage.

We just had a friend stay there a few weeks ago and they thought it was great. They met us at the front entrance, however had we know that the Toy Story Parking Lot is literally right next door we would have just picked them up there and driven with them to the lot.

Distance to the park is significantly further (about 3 miles) but, if you are a quick walker it might be nice in the morning. I would definitely call a cab for your transfer to the GCH though.

We have just stayed their and loved it. We walked one morning and it was a pleasant walk and also walked back at night and it was once again pleasant. We also caught the bus from the toy story parking lot to and from with out any problems. It was so good we cancelled our 2 stay at the Disneyland Hotel during the trip and extended our stay at homewood instead. They actually have wifi that works.

The hotel is only 1 mile from the entrance. Still a long walk, but not undoable. However, looking at google maps it is very close to the Disneyland parking and taking a shuttle would be pretty easy.

I'm staying there the first week in March. Google maps walking time says .3 of a mile to Toy Story Parking Lot and 1.2 miles from the park.

We are staying after our trip to DL and the GCV because we want to go to Knotts berry farm which I know is in the area . We will have a car so this is not a problem with the walk to the parks Thanks for all the info !! I think we are going to book there since it seems like the nicest place for us right now !
