Any of you not go to your "home" on the first trip

We are hoping to use our first set of points "home" at a different resort. We belong to SSR, but are thinking of doing 3 days at Vero and 3 @ BCV. We are not planning on going to the parks and thought the pool would be a bigger plus at BCV. Vero is just a change of the Disney pace for DH as we will be following this with a DCL cruise.

I'm sure you'll have a lovely trip, no matter where. We used our VWL points there, that was our first DVC trip, second one was to VB, which wasn't our home, but we bought a resale for VB as soon as we got back to Ohio!

We have VB points and have never been there. One of these days we'll make it there.
You'll enjoy your DVC no matter where you stay. It is a wonderful experience.

We own at SSR and have not stayed there. We went to the Wilderness Lodge in 2005, we are going to BCV and HH this year, Vero and DCL in 2007 and then finally we will get a SSR grand Villa during Christams. The great thing aboutDisney is that we have a lot of great vactions to look forward to. Now what should we plan on doing in 2009?

I own at BWV but stayed at OKW first. I did May at OKW and December at BWV, May was my first trip.

Bought BWV in May 2000 and planned a trip for Dec of that year. The BWV were all sold out so we got an OKW 2 bdr. I can say I was not disappointed. It is still one of my magical moments with DVC as we had bought sight unseen and had no idea what that room was going to be like.

Maybe I'm wierd...but when I return home for for the first time as a DVC member...I plan on staying at Poly and CR atleast maybe or two nights..and then stay at SSR or OKW. I love the monorail resorts....I'm a sucker I know!

Have yet to stay at SSR. We've been to BWV 2x, BCV, and I'm going to stay one night at VWL.

we bought our BWV points as a resale in December 2001 and it had around 35 banked points that needed to be used in 2002. my DH surprized me with a last minute trip to OKW over memorial day weekend 2002 as our very first DVC trip. we didnt use our BWV points at our home resort until January 2004!!! now htat I have stayed at BWV though I doubt I could ever stay anywhere else. we just LOVE the convenience of being able to walk to Epcot and MGM and the stroll around the lake over to Beach Club etc.

We bought at SSR. Our first trip home will be this March and we are going to stay at BWV. The kids love the look of the pool so we thought that we would try it. To me it makes no difference where we stay. I just love Disney.

We've been members since Oct. 98 and purchased BWV. I have not stayed there yet.
I always book it at the 11 and then look at 7 for what ever else is a available. I am sure that someday, we will go to our own home, but I think they are all my home! (We also have added pts. at Vero and a small 50 pt. contract at VWL).

We own at SSR and VWL. On our first trip "home" we were only SSR members and stayed at OKW. Since that time we have stayed at every WDW DVC resort, but only at SSR once. The trip we are making for the Expedition Everest preview will be our second SSR trip.

When we bought SSR initially we were unaware that we could have purchased at other resorts besides SSR so we decided to try them all. After trying them all we just did an add on last week at SSR and plan on spending more time there in the future.

We have not closed on our BWV resale yet - should happen this week! But we are already planning a summer trip and, depending on availability, will not be going to our home resort. Hoping to get into BCV and OKW for our first trip.

We're also planning on heading down this Thanksgiving, and will most likely stay at "home" then...

I'm with some of the other posters, though...ANYWHERE at Disney is home to me!

We bought OKW resale in August 2005. Since we had previously planned a trip in October 2005, I called Member Services to see what was available. Since it was such short notice, only one place had sufficient days in a row available and that was SSR. It was nice, but I'm looking forward to BCV and OKW in May.

I own at VWL. My first use of DVC points was at the Grand Californian. My first stay at a DVC resort on points will be next month at BWV. Then in June, I'll have two nights at OKW. I won't actually get to VWL until October of this year (but I'm already looking forward to it).

I own at both OKW and SSR, but my first stay will be in about 2 months at BWV. However, I have booked a stay at OKW in October, and SSR in December/January. Although, there is always that possibility that I might change at 7 months.

We own at SSR, but our first "Welcome home" trip was to HH for Memorial Day last year. We stayed at our home resort in October and have two trips planned there next year.

We didn't. We bought a VWL resale in July 2005 and it was already booked for Oct and Dec so we stayed at SSR and OKW. Finally getting our first trip home as a family in Oct 06.

Our 1st DVC trip was to HH this past Thanksgiving. We will be at our home resort, VWL, for the 1st time in June.
