I will be helping my DD move back home on May 8th from her first year of College! :Pinkbounc She called home today, she tells me she is ready to come home. I think she is a little home sick, I myself sure have missed her, as she is my only child, We are very close. I can not wait.

The past several times that I have talked to her she sounds so grown up now. What happen's to them during this time. Alot of change I know.

I would love to hear from all of you who are also getting ready to bring their babies home.

I'm one of the "babies!" I graduate on May 15th, and my parents are coming up (of course I know) and we're taking all my clothes, decorations, and some other stuff that fits in the cars and moving it home on the 16th. We'll come up at the end of the summer (I'm subleasing my apartment to a close friend) to get the furniture. I think I'm a lot more emotional than they are! It's hard leaving a place I've called home for four years....I can still remember my parents leaving me for the first time at my dorm and thinking "I bet they're crying in the car" and now it's four years later and it just doesn't seem possible. Being 5 hours away from home for 4 years didn't seem possible either, but I did it and I wouldn't change a thing...Except maybe I'd learn how to say no and not be on leadership for every single organization that I'm in...Ugh. Sorry so long, just a little emotional now.

If a "child's" perspective is welcome, I'll give you mine.

I just returned from my first year away from home at college last Friday, and what a process that was :) It took me about 10 hours to pack up my entire room, my life basically, and it wasn't the most fun thing in the world (well obviously lol). It's an emotional time, because no matter how ready you are to come home, it's hard to leave the place that you've called home and the people that grew to be your family away from home for a many months.

I just finished unpacking on Monday, and I'm actually getting ready to pack back up for my trip to Disney tomorrow! :) I'm dreading re-packing, but I know as soon as I get to the airport I'm going to be excited.

Good luck!

Oh, and just to let you know, I've changed tremendously at school. My parents keep remarking about how unselfish I act now compared to during the summer. Personally, I went t hrough alot of changes and feel that every experience I went through my freshman year made me grow as a person. I get along much better with my parents so far after living by myself for so long. I do admit though, I didn't miss them nagging me when I was in college! ;) It takes some getting used to, but it seems to be working out fine.

My son will be graduating on May 8th and coming home for good!! Of course I hope he's not home too long! We hope he will be getting a job and moving out on his own!:D

I will be done with my first year of college soon!! But I only go to school 15 minutes away from home, so I've seen my family a lot. I've already started moving stuff back home...I can't believe how fast the year went!! It seems like just yesterday we were moving in!

Norah comes home from her first year in a little under a month. She is spending a little time after finals with her boyfriend before coming home.
She is mailing alot home, storing most at the soroity and leaving some at the boyfriends house. She will be flying home.

DH is going to Pennsylvania on May 8th to pick up our DD. She's just finishing up her first year. I'm trying to help her find a summer job now and we have a Disney cruise planned so that we can do some family bonding. I can't wait to have her home again.

Basically no my parents aren't getting ready to help me move out lol ;)

I'll be picking up my youngest from her 2nd year of college on Tuesday. She is about 6 hours away, and didn't get home for many weekends. She will have scads of stuff to bring home; I just hope she has some of it sorted and packed! She will be studying abroad (in Wales) next semester, so there won't be any moving her back to the dorm until the new year! Oldest DD will not be coming home for the summer, but will stay in her apartment, work at her job and get ready for her last year of college. (My pocketbook is really looking forward to having at least one out of school!;) )

We're getting ready to pick up DS in a little less than a month after his freshman year. We are going up the weekend before to take home what he can live without for 4 days. Since he is only 2 1/2 hours from home, it is not too bad. We are all looking forward to seeing him this summer. That is, if we see him since he is taking an EMT course, volunteering, and looking for a job. The dog misses him so much. She will be very happy!

My oldest DD is finishing her junior year at Texas (Hook-em Horns!). She's only an hour away, so we see her a lot. My youngest DD graduates May 27 & both will be in college next year. Yikes- two kids in college! $$$$$$$$$........

Our daughter doesn't come home. She'll take a class or two and do some traveling. Works out well because we love going to visit her during the summer.

My oldest will finish her classwork on May 7 or 8th then move home to student teach. She will stay with us until she gets a job which we hope will be soon. ;) It's gonna be different having us all living under one roof again but I'm looking forward to it. Now if we only had somewhere to put the stuff she has accumulated in 4 years...
