Any Norwood Ma. Diser's, did they open up the new Krispy Kremes yet?

ok, for the last two years, we make it a point to go to all the new Krispy Kremes openings (or within a week) around here. Two years ago, we actually took a three hour drive to Ct. to go to our first visit, oh YUM. So, do you know if they opened it yet in Norwood? Time for a drive in our new Nissan Quest minivan!!

The only other MA location currently open is in Medford. A KK is scheduled to be opened in the Prudential Center this Spring. Negotiations for a store in Woburn have also been in the news lately.

We went to a Krispie Kreme Grand Opening in NJ and it was a lot of fun. They had a kids' dance group performing, jugglers, clowns, face-painting, antique cars and trucks, and FREE donuts. Also gave out balloons, paper hats, etc to everyone.

I wonder how far it is to Norwood from here....

SeaSpray--we can be from here to Norwood in about 35-40mins. 24N to 93 to Rt 1S. Piece o' cake!!! And actually right up the street from where I work!

For any MA Disers up north here, the latest rumor is they are trying to get a KK in Woburn, right off 93(in the old registry building, off Montvale Ave). This could be deadly for me.

That's what I was thinking myself when I heard this one. OMG. First, I was thinking about the traffic trying to get home through the "doughnut crazed" masses like they had over in Medford. The backup on 93 would rival that we have on the 93/128 cloverleaf. Then I'm thinking OMG with a KK that close by I'd either weigh 250 pounds within months or I'd have to walk to and from the KK to burn off the calories.

BTW - I went to the Medford KK in the Fall and things were normal. There weren't any insane sugar high hundreds of people milling about, teens calling all their friends to join in, electrical fires causing a near riot in the parking lot or need for State Police patrols. I was glad I saw a KK opening for myself but never again want to do that.

Margie, thank you!! My bad, I thought it was Norwood, its Dedham, still a good 45 minutes away. Heck, thats ok. It'll still beat the 3 hrs. we drove to Ct. We've been to the Medford store several times and that was a brave drive through Beantown . Ok, so we're talking a drive to Dedham perhaps next Saturday with the kids. I'm UP FOR IT!!!!!!

Our high school marching band just did a "Krispy Kreme" FUNraiser....everything was pre-ordered-pre-pay and they delivered 725 dozen glazed doughnuts around 10am.. They were made that am in the Cranston, Rhode Island store and delivered to the Cape!! (the kids made a ton of money too and we are thinking of doing another before our band trip to D.C in late April)
While I was the chairperson for this funraiser I spoke with a women in the offices in RI. and she said they were looking at the Cape too.....this would do a number on Dunkin Donuts, as they are now on every corner down here....

Dunkin Donuts is a Coffee Shop.....Krispy Kremes is a Donut Shop!!!!

There's one in Milford, CT...I found when I went looking at colleges down that way...and did you know there is one inside of Moeghan Sun now!!..a friend of mine that went to the casino last week and he said it cost him $400.00 for a dozen doughnuts!!!! LOL LOL

Can you imagine the traffic? Montvale Ave during rush hour stinks as it is...how many people will be thinking "why I dont I stop and pick up some donuts on the way home". I wouldnt attempt to go near there for a few months at least.

Poohs Pal, what a great fundraiser that is. DH heads up a fundraising comittee for DS's school and we are trying to decide what to do for next year. I may have to look into this!

We're from the Cape too! It would be soooo wonderful to have a Krispy Creme & a Dunkin Donuts on the same side of the street.
Although it would be horrible for my waistline. I can walk into DD and not walk out with a donut....don't think I could do this at KK!!!

We were at the Medford Krispy Kreme just last night!! At 10:30pm, the line was almost out the door! I didn't know about the upcoming Dedham opening, so this is great news, we fly right past Rt. 1 on our way down to SE MA to visit the family...

I heard a rumor that there's possibly a KK location coming to Framingham, right on Rt. 9, too!! (that's a whole 5-10 minutes from my house, instead of 20 to Dedham!)

Donuts, YUM! Curves, here I come!

capegirl...it would be very dangerous down here!! Not having them down here is why we did so well at our fundraiser, cause' people really wanted to try them, but didn't want to drive over the bridge....I still have people coming up to me at school (1 1/2 months later....asking when we are doing the fundraiser again!

I know it was covered earlier, but just to reiterate, the new Krispy Kreme is in Dedham, at the site of the old Bickford's on Rt. 1. and it opens tomorrow.

I work in Norwood on the AutoMile, and on Thursday the folks at KK brought us (I kid you not) 32 DOZEN donuts in an attempt to get noticed... like they needed the help Needless to say they made a lot of new fans that day.

SeaSpray--the OP was slightly confused, it looks as if the KK is in Dedham, NOT Norwood, but close to the line if it's where I think it is. So it's Dedham, a bit closer to us actually, and we can be there WELL inside an hour!!!
