Looking for a inexpensive place to stop around Tallahassee driving from Houston? Thanks in advance!

There are several at the second and third Tallahassee exit. Right along the interstate. I remember a Comfort Inn, La Quinta, Holiday Inn (Express, I think). Maybe a Sleep Inn.

Don't even think of stopping in Quincy which is just before Tallahasse. We stopped there for gas and intended to spend the night at a Holiday Inn Express across the parking lot. I went in to get a receipt for the gas as the pay at the pump printer was out of paper. Never was I so sure that I was going to be robbed. There were people in there that seemed to be casing the place. After getting out safely, theres nothing like a scare like that to make you drive on a little longer.

Ditto this comment. And when you buy the gas, you will still feel like you got robbed. Quincy must be hard up for everything, so they jack the prices way up.

What about Lake City? How much further is it from Tallahassee? On Mapquest it shows to be about 2 hours, but I think their times are a little exaggerated. Does anyone think it's worth the further drive, or would it be better to stop in Tallahassee? We are used to stopping over in Tally, but I would like to make it a little further if possible. Actually, I'd like to fly, but I think that plan has fallen by the wayside.:(

We stayed at a Ramada just east of Tallahassee on the way home in March. It was very clean and reasonably priced. I can't remember what exit it was, but I know it was east of the city, right on I-10, and there wasn't much else around it.

As for Lake City, it is about 1 1/2 - 2 hours further east. We stayed there on the way to WDW... I won't recommend the place we stayed, but I did like getting that much closer to Orlando. We got a good night's sleep, and only had about 2 more hours to drive the next day.

Have a safe and fun trip! :teeth:
