Any news on when/if ticket prices are going up?

We are going and staying offsite in April and had planned to purchase our tickets well before our 30 day FP+ window but not until probably February so that we didn't have an added expense around the holidays when we are already putting purchases on our credit cards.

My sister went to AAA the other day to see how much of a discount we'd get by purchasing it through them. (We'd save about $9 per ticket). The "Disney Specialist" there told her to buy before January because there was going to be a price increase.

I don't really trust this person's info that much because it has been proven in the past that she has been incorrect about many things Disney.
I don't necessarily believe that there will be an increase and if there is I wouldn't expect it to come in January but more like March.

So just looking for info from those that may know.
Price increase in January or no?

AAA and Disneys partnership isn't as strong as it once was.

That said I haven't heard or seen anything yet about ticket price increases coming soon.

Yeah we started booking our own trips once the two started parting ways.
I wasn't even sure if there would be a AAA ticket discount still but there is so we might as well use it.
My sister is concerned that come the new year BAM the tickets will skyrocket and from following ticket price increases in the past I just don't think it will happen then.
Hope we get enough of a warning from Disney if that is going to happen to purchase them before the increase.

I wouldn't be too worried about the first of the year since Disney just announced a 4 park ticket special that's good through May. Also, traditionally, if ticket prices are going up, it doesn't happen until February and I believe Disney has given about a 2 week lead time; or if Disney doesn't give it, there's usually a credible source that has.

With attendance down.... I can't see them going up on tickets at this point.

Of course here in Florida... everything's going up .5% come the new year.

Really? I thought I was on the up and up on politics and such and I don't remember anything about a tax increase. Maybe this is a county tax increase and why I didn't know. As far as I know, Florida state tax didn't go up. I did a search on Orange and Osceola counties and I didn't find an increase since 2014.

How many days? ParkSavers still has the 7 day MYW Hopper voucher for (adult) for the price of a 4 day ($48 savings). Voucher is good until 12.31.2018

Only getting a 3 day park hopper because we are going to a few other places that we haven't been in a while since we don't road trip it much anymore.
I figure $9 is a pretty decent savings for only a 3 day ticket.

I purchased 5 day PHs before the last price increase to use for a 2018 trip. Sure hope Disney doesn't find a way to put an expiration on them!:scared:

If they were to add an expiration date to multi day tickets it would not be retroactive so you shouldn't have anything to be concerned about.

Current rumor is Spring (March/April) 2017 for ticket adjustments.

With attendance as soft as it has been and the dropping of that new ticket special, are they seriously considering another price increase? The madness continues.

They are likely always considering price increase but we aren't going to see any until next year.

The advice from the AAA agent was likely based on the last three years (including this year). In February of 2014, 2015, and 2016, Disney adjusted prices most tickets (single day, multi-day, park hoppers). There's no guarantee they will continue that trend with the same timing though. My opinion is that if you know you will go at some point, there's little reason not to go ahead and purchase the tickets as soon as you can afford to. Multi-day unused tickets do not expire, so if it were me, I'd go ahead and buy. Also consider looking at Undercover Tourist. I purchased a bunch of tickets in February just before the price increase hit and I found Undercover Tourist to offer a slightly better deal than AAA. You can choose physical tickets or e-tickets, either of which can be linked to your MDE account.

We can more easily afford them after the holidays so we were looking to wait until 2017 to purchase.

We checked Undercover Tourist already. AAA has them beat by $2 a ticket.

For what it's worth, the recent February price hikes have been late in the month. So hopefully, if you could swing late January/early February you would beat the next one. Good luck!

Does AAA price include tax? UT does.
AAA doesn't show the full price including tax until you add something to your cart and then go look in it. I wish they listed the prices inclusive of tax the way UT does. Makes it so much easier to compare apples to apples. The OP didn't say how many days they are looking at and whether there are any add-ons. It really depends on the length and type of ticket which ends up being the better deal. I know when I bought in February, UT was the better deal, but I was looking at 3-day with PH. I think at that time 3-day without PH AAA won by just under $2 a ticket.
