Anyone have any good newish series or movies you would recommend? I am traveling a good bit these days and I like to download them on my iPad ahead of time.

My favorite series in the past for reference:
- The Sopranos
- The walking dead
- Fallout
- Game of Thrones
- Breaking Bad
- Yellowstone

Definitely not new, but did you watch the Jack Ryan series on Prime? Those were great. We started watching Your Honor awhile ago but kind of stalled ... it's actually really good, but we really don't watch a lot of TV at all, and just kind of never made it back there. I would love to get back into that one. Also Netflix - Fool Me Once - we watched (and completed) and was pretty good .. I mean not spectacular but we finished it and enjoyed it. The Queen's Gambit was really good too.

Both Yellowstone spin-offs, 1883 and 1923.
Outlander
Hell or High Water (movie) - must see
F1 is awesome if you can catch it on the plane

Jack Ryan was very good.

I started your honor and it stalled for me.

Fool me once I will check out.

Queens Gambit was awesome!

1883 and 1923 = yep very good.

Outlander was good, but had some insanely troublesome scenes in it for my taste.

I will check out hell or high water.

My son said F1 was great, so it’s on the list too.

Silo on Apple TV is great - season 3 should be out soon - can't wait.
Both seasons of Andor are a must watch
If you haven't seen it, New Girl is funnier than Friends ever was. That one is on the older side but there is a reason why it is near the top of the list of whatever platform it is currently on.
Welcome to Wrexham is the real-life version of Ted Lasso and is really good (Hulu)
Speaking of, if you haven't watched Ted Lasso that one is fantastic (Apple TV)
High Potential (Hulu) is really good - that's our latest binge-watch
Succession on HBO Max - man was that good.

Landman was very good. We liked all the forms of Dexter and we just finished the first season of Mobland on Paramount+, Zero Day with Robert Deniro on Netflix was also good. We just started Bloodline on Netflix.

The Bookie (sadly only 2 seasons) is hilarious.
Mythic Quest was hilarious (and I do not video game at all).

an oldie but still one of the best ever-Six Feet Under.

I'd second Silo and Succession, both very good shows. I'd also suggest From and The Boys too.

It isn't a full on multi season tv show, but the 5 episode limited Chernobyl series is a great watch too.

The first series of Altered Carbon was brilliant but the second really let it down!

Recommendations based on your list (we’ve enjoyed many of the same series)

Shogun
Your Honor
Landman
Succession
Peaky Blinders
Vikings: Vahalla
The Witcher
Ozark
Paradise

it was excellent. 2 other miniseries that I also enjoyed-

The Salisbury Poisonings
Earth Abides.

Severance is the best TV show I've watched in years. It's so good that I'd actually say it's worth getting Apple TV to watch (and I don't subscribe to ANY streaming services).

I was SO glad dh and I didn't discover this until the second season was about to start b/c we never would have been able to endure the wait between seasons. so well written.

Fun humorous sci fi: MurderBot on Apple

not sure if you have started it as it is not new new, but it fits with the Fallout/Walking Dead theme: Last of Us

we also enjoyed Rings of Power and House of the Dragon

Some we like

Paradise on Hulu
Only Murders in the building on Hulu
Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple
Clarksons Farm on Prime
Doc Martin though several years old is good

Agree with Cadiewampus on Clarksons Farm & Doc Martin.

We've been watching the (US version) show Ghosts & Abbott Elementary. There's a new-ish Nick Frost movie we want to watch called Get Away that looks amusing.

There’s a little bit of everything in this list but because I am a prudish old bat, nothing too spicy.:happytv:

House of the Dragon (HBO)
Ted Lasso (Apple)
For All Mankind (Apple)
Tulsa King (Paramount+)
House of David (Amazon Prime)

We are planning a trip to Scottland next year and we are going to take some time to get down to Port Issac (port wenn from Doc Martin)

Shogun on Hulu is great.

Andor season 2 on Disney+.

Since you like Fallout, you might also like Arcane on Netflix. It's pretty different than the rest of your list.
