Any negative to 2 airlines?

I really wanted to fly Delta but the fares are just crazy!!

I can book Delta from LGA-MCO for 87.80 one way and then AA back home for the same price to make it $175.60 r/t

The flight home on a Delta 1 way was $300, wonder why the outgoing flight is so much cheaper.

Anyway, I have never flown 2 different airlines before on 1 trip, are there any negatives to that??

I see nothing wrong with saving some money with your approach, especially if one airline has an unreasonably high price with a return flight.

Just make sure you have enough time between flights to get to your gate, check in, etc.

I wouldn't try to fly two airlines from home to your destination (outbound) or back (homebound), but flying one airline outbound and one airline homebound is fine.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Some people only fly oneway, so it makes no difference to the airline, they won't even know it anyway. Heck save the money!!

yes, non-stop flights each way. Outbound being Delta and homebound being AA.

Just allow some extra time for the security screening since it looks like you are only flying one way.

Think of it this way: The incentive to fly one airline both ways is a lower fare. Since neither airline offered that incentive on flights that suited your schedule both ways, no problem booking a different airline coming home.

If you checked a few days before and after the $300. fare you might see lower fares where all the cheap seats on some planes were not already taken.

The only negative is that if you need to cancel or change your flts you would be paying 2 fees.
