We'll be checking next Saturday to see if there's a "soft opening" of the Garden Grill yet. I have FH promising that we'll try to get in, if they are.

We'll be reporting as soon as we see anything, but since we're only there on the weekends someone else will find out first, I'm sure.

Oh, umm.... I have to say that the menus have changed. I mean, the whole menu has been changed. We are trying to become a little more fine dining. You'll notice a change in costume from the jungle looking shirts to a pinstripe dress shirt. The menu is still being finalized and changing as we go along because they are still tweaking it and seeing if there is positive feedback or not.

I am also curious to know if they will bring back the Ice Cream Social. My DS5 loved the ICS during our last trip in June 2004.

We are heading back again in June of this year and I was told that they wouldn't be taking reservations for the ICS again until July.

Does anyone have any info on this? I'll probably call in the morning to see if PS's are available for June. I'll let everyone know if I hear anything first.

I just called WDW and asked for a PS at Garden Grill for June 4th. The CM said that Garden Grill is still closed and they are not accepting PS's at this time.

I'll try back again next week. If cali99boy is correct and Garden Grill opens next week, then they may have a little more information about PS's for the future at that time.

Thanks for the report. I've convinced FH to go on Sunday, if they're open. I think we're going to head over, try lunch at the new Beach Club counter service restaurant, and try for dinner at Garden Grill.

My family and i loved their all you can eat selctions. we only discovered it last year and were hoping to eat there again. we loved the casual atmoshere also. Very disappointing!!! They should leave well enough alone. My brother's family has the same opinion.

I called Disney earlier today for a PS June 17--was told they're not taking PS's yet. I am eager to try the GG and will keep checking these boards. Please--post when you're able to get a PS at the Garden Grille for June!

All the tables our kind of on a turntable and it slowly moves around and you can see part of the ride of The Land. It is a good meal with good character interaction. Just kind of a fun place to dine.

Yes, it rotates, and I'd heard the skillets were quite tasty. But what I was really excited about was the "rehitching ceremony" that I was going to surprise my DH with on our 16th wedding anniversary. Alas, I understand the "rc" is no longer, and the menu has changed. BUt I would still very much like to try it, especially now that Akershus has been ruined by going princess!

Well.... I can list the menu items but umm.... the crew did a taste test today and well.... I'm gonna be honest. A lot of us do not like the new menu We all really want to go back to the old menu but I don't know whats gonna happen.

I am also curious to know if they will bring back the Ice Cream Social. My DS5 loved the ICS during our last trip in June 2004.

As of right now, Ice Cream socials are no longer available

Yes, but the term for it is now "Advanced Seating" As for getting Advanced Seating now,... I don't know. I'm not a seater, and I haven't asked about it yet

Sure. I had list some menu items off the top of my head.
The Entrees:
Chiptole Rubbed Rotisserie Chicken
Seafood XXXXX <-- forgot the name lol
Beef Strip Loin
Mushroom Ravioli
Grilled Red Snapper

We have one salad - (I personally did not like it )
We have one desert - Chocolate Fondue
We have one appetizer - Trio Breadsticks

I noticed that we were really pushing wine. You will notice a selection of new wines that will complement the new menu.

There will be a kid's menu
Chicken Strips
Fries
Any a few others


Honestly, umm.. yea. Everyone is anticipating repeat guests being very disappointed with the new menu. Well.. actually, we(the CMs), anticipate ALL guests being disappointed and unsatisfied We will be serving the executives tomorrow. If they don't like it, then maybe something will be done about the menu

The dining area rotates. Yes Very slowly btw so you can see the scenary from the ride below



I'm a new hire. But I heard that the old food was quite tasty and was doing good. I have no idea why they changed it except the fact that most other dining restaurants were "up-scale" and we wanted to switch up as well. I just hope the food gets better somehow....soon.

Thanks for the menu. The chicken, beef and ravioli sound awesome to me!! I loved the flank steak on the "old menu". The dessert sounds fun and as long as they did not change the salad and the bread my dh will be happy.

Is this still served family style?

I hope it will be open in June.
