Any manage to get new AP rate for Nov

I was wondering about this too. I am a little confused about the new system. It sounds like rates are already out for the fall. Is this right? I was one of the ones that was in "the wait and see" mode. If I would save money I was going to buy an AP. Now I am not sure what to do! We are looking to stay at AKL November 5 thru November 10 in a standard view room.

Managed to get my 2 ressie for Nov last night for 11/3-11/21 at POR at approx $122 per night. Seems to be adding dates and rooms daily. Have to warn you that it took me 24 hours though. Need to be persistent and keep trying. Really don't think they are going to drop rates any lower for APHs. Seems to be better discounts in Dec.

We go to Disney every November (for the past 13 years), and most of the time get an AP rate. Well, this past year we went in April, and were debating going again in November. I thought if the AP rates & airfares were good, we would go. Delta has $79 each way (out of Hartford, CT), so it looked promising. However, the AP rates I just found are the worst ever for our week in November (Nov. 4-12) Here is what I got off of the web site, and it includes tax:

Port Orleans or Coronado $122 a night -standard view
(We have paid just over $100 a night here 3 years ago with an AP rate, so maybe its a rate increase over that time periodi)
Beach Club $283 for standard view (We paid $219 standard view here 18 months ago)
Poly $305 Garden view
Wilderness Lodge $245-courtyard view (We paid $175 in April with an AP rate, but that was for a standard view--they gave us an upgrade to Courtyard upon arrival. Two years prior, we paid $140 with an AP rate for November, standard view at WL)

Looks like its time to finally take our friend's advice and try someplace besides Disney for our vacation. There is no way I am sending them a non-refundable deposit with a chance the rate can come down. They are going to have to make it more enticing price wise if they want to keep our deposit, IMHO

mom22boys: I was checking dates for other folks on the DIS and saw your post. I checked the AP best rate program for your dates and the least expensive room the system is showing available for AKL is the water/pool view @ $185 per night. The AP rates seem to change quickly so this rate may not be available when you get ready to book.

Good Luck! :wave2:

I booked 6 nights at POFQ yesterday and got a $121 rate including tax. Took a while, but it worked.Hang in there. I do believe there is a strong likelyhood of AP rooms being taken up by this program. Those who snooze, for what ever reason, could lose. I know the nonrefundable deposit is a big hangup, but I've always booked 3 to 4 months in advance anyway. But I'm self-employed and can guarantee my own time off. I understand most can't do this.

Thanks so much Crazy4wdw. That was so nice of you. I am kind of bummed about the rates and the new program. I was really hoping that the rates would be low enough so that it would make sense for us to buy an AP. I was really hoping to squeeze in a couple trips within the next year. Our youngest doesn't turn three until late April. We thought it would be fun to do one fall trip and one spring trip while he was still free! I will keep reading these boards with any luck things will work out after all! :wizard:

:earseek: 24 HOURS? :earseek:

I'm lucky to have 1/2 of that amount of time a week :headache:

Remember with the Best Rate program that the rates could still come down between now and when you travel. They might not, but they could.

My DU agent was able to get good Best Rate(s) for my split stay (three reservations) on Nov 10-12 at GF, Nov 12-14 at BWV and Nov 14-19 at FW.

We are still trying to analyze the “Best Rate Program” , we will be in WDW July 4th - 14th :cool1: I am planning to purchase AP(s) for all 4 of us (Family ) when we arrive, we were then looking into a return visit this Nov hoping for AP rates, due to the fact we do not yet have our AP(s) we are not Even able to book online or check the rates offered for AP holders. I have talked with a lot of people who purchase their AP(s) when they arrive in WDW , however if we are to use this System on line we are being told we must have a pass or voucher in hand, this part of the program alone is causing a lot of problems, I know that one has to have the AP in hand at check in; and Should, however to book a room with a pass that you will not use for 120 days is asking a lot, I do know if one has the AP because they have already been to WDW then this is not as issue , however we purchase our AP(s) the first day we need them and use them as such: July 2005, Nov 2005 and June 2006/ then we do not renew . We will then purchase new Ap(s) July 2007 for use July, Nov 2007 and June 2008. So there will be a gap of not having AP(s) in hand when we make the Res. But as stated we do purchase them when we arrive. Most of the guide books and web sites we read about Disney states that you should not purchase AP(s) until you are in WDW unless you think there will be an increase in price. The reason they state is because there is no need to spend that kind of money until you are going to use the AP(s),
I think the “Best Rate Program” might work however I feel that one should not have to have the Voucher or Pass in hand just to book a room or even find out the rate for that room :badpc: . I also do not agree with those who book a room and never show an AP at check in or have them at all, we all know that this could be solved if the CM would ask for them and require them at check in. If this was strictly enforced then problem Solved. I also feel that if one checks in with an AP rate and dose not have an AP in hand and has no intention of getting them :sad2: then they should pay the $50 change penalty and of Course rack rate. Again to me this would solve some of these issues.

Just my thoughts, and dose anyone know the AP rates for Nov 19-26th 2005
thanks

The AP rate you are quoting for the mods is the AP rate I paid in May. I was also hoping for a lower rate. If the bookings are up, the discount is just not too good. :sad2:
