Has anyone has luck upgrading your room at check-in? Might sound like a dumb question, but also wondering if they charge you for the upgrade if you are requesting it once you arrive. We are staying at the WL next summer and was curious about anyone's success.

We upgraded at check-in from a concierge room to a 1BR suite at the AKL for less than the rate I was quoted by CRO. Then they upgraded us for free to a 2BR.

It couldn't hurt to ask.

WL does give some nice upgrades if they are available.

I would just ask politely at check-in and maybe even ask if there is an upgrade available to concierge-usually around $35 a night depending on what type of room you are upgrading from. This would be worth it.

If you are looking for a different upgrade such as woods view to courtyard view-just ask.

I was in a std view room in March at WL and when I checked in asked if there were any concierge rooms availabel for upgrade. They charged me $45.00 per night which I thought was a great deal and of course I took it. Be aware that at WL the concierge floor is on the top floor and the balconies have a solid wood enclosure so you can not sit on your balcony and see much except for the sky. Have fun.

Thanks for the great info. We are currently booked for a standard room but really would like to stay in a deluxe room. I'm debating on whether to bite the bullet and pay for the upgrade.

Thanks again!

Just had another thought. What are the benefits of the concierge rooms?? I know you get the buffet - is that just for breakfast? Are the rooms larger than a standard room? Any info is helpful.

The 7th floor rooms are the same except they have enclosed balconies. That is why when we upgraded at check in ($35 from courtyard) we kept our 5th floor room. It was a better view than what was available on the 7th and we still got all the concierge perks an the open balcony.

BTW disneyatl there is food all day but the continental breakfast is the biggest spread but there are also snacks throughout the day and a big "dinner" spread of very heavy hors douvres like buffalo chili etc. Late night desserts and cordials are great too.We asked for and received turn down service on the 5th floor too.

I think the best thing at WL would be to reserve a deluxe room aka junior suite and then get a concierge upgrade at check-in and still stay in your same room. That way you have a huge room and concierge service.

IMHO, they could raise the rates on the deluxe rooms and include concierge service. Those rooms are a good value for what you get.

Again, there is no guarantee you would be able to upgrade at check-in.

Do you think I could get an upgrade from a std FTP to concierge at the 35.00 -45.00 rate? WL .

It would make a difference to wether I made the grocery stop. I wold hate to buy groceries and then get the upgrade.
