Any luck in pushing you FCC past May '22?

Knowing there aren't any sailings scheduled past this time, wondering if anyone has talked to Guest Services about holding their credit for the next set of sailings? They keep cancelling more and more - which has the effect of cramming more and more people wanting to use their credits into a smaller and smaller set of available cruises. And leaving the most recent cancelees with whatever is left over cabin-wise. Maybe we need to start a campaign to push the company to extend the FCC limit date?

I raised this issue in the following thread and was met with alot of people who blindly jumped to DCL's defense (hardly unexpected here):

The fact of the matter is that my initial point still stands. DCL needs to do the right thing and extend the FCC deadline and give those who opted to take it (in exchange for what amounts to an interest free loan to DCL) a reasonable chance to use the FCC. I dont believe the current window of 1 year is enough time to allow for that.

Is the Wish holding up the summer 2022 release? Who cares - they easily could release the other itineraries. I have a May '21 Alaskan I'm certain will need to be moved to next year...but they haven't released next year. Meantime, other cruise lines are offering dates two years out. Yes, it's uncertain times but so what. I mean, who the heck is in charge of the books at DCL - don't you want to sit on our money for a cruise 2 years in the future?

No, the Wish is not holding up summer 2022 releases. The Wish itineraries will be released separately. In past years, summer itineraries have been released in Feb/Mar so we are probably still a few weeks out. Last year they announcement was made on February 24.

Nothing is holding up the release yet. We are still almost a month away from when the release usually happens.

I would imagine when they release the summer 2022 they'll extend it, otherwise I think they're facing massive refunds they'd probably prefer not to have to make.
If they extend it, which seems more likely all the time, I'm sure they'll exclude any sailings on the Wish. Assuming that the Wish will actually still sail in summer of '22.

Maybe, maybe not. Letting the FCC be used on the Wish might continue to capture a demographic that otherwise would refund. I'm sure DCL is analyzing their costs and what their price point will have to be to account for the outstanding discounts. Maybe they would black out the maiden voyage, but I don't see what the benefit would be for blocking out Wish entirely.

I'm expecting they'll change the rule when the slate of 2022 cruises come out. It only seems fair that if there was a year+ without being able to cruise, they should extend the benefit by an equal amount of time.
