Any luck extending Westjet travel bank money expiry date?

Just wondering if anyone has had any success. We were planning on a Christmas trip but just looked at the prices...almost $6K for 4 people! No way I am spending that just on flights. Don't want to waste hours on hold on the phone if it is going to be futile.

Simple solution - book flights, any flights, then cancel them. It re-sets your expiring travel bank dollars to start again the day you cancel.

Simpler solution - use WestJet's increasingly efficient Call-Back option. I've been getting call-backs offered within 15 minutes of me requesting. A couple of months back, a call-back was a 3-4 day wait.

They've closed the loophole of cancelling flight and re-booking it now or so I've heard. My sister in law was able to call and get them to extend her credits to summer 2023 for a small fee I believe (~25 dollars) but I suppose your mileage may vary there? Wouldn't hurt to ask (if you can get through...).

I had four lounge passes converted from a 2020 companion flight that are set to expire Feb 28,2022. I asked if they would extend it for another month since we are going to Hawaii in March but was told no way they would do that.

I had the same issue in January. I complained how I’ve had the vouchers but the few times I’ve flown the lounges have been closed. She kept saying she couldn’t so I asked to speak with someone else and the lady had me switched to the Westjet Rewards team I think it was called? They extended all my vouchers until June no problem.
