Dodge trucks would be my LAST choice if I had a history of transmission trouble with the othe brands.
Our last dodge that had transmission problems was a 1996. Our 2007 Jeep, which is supposedly from chrysler's "bad" period, has been 100% better than the currently-inoperable Ford.
I asked a family member who works at a ford dealership if he would buy any of the 2013 F-series and he said that the ecoboost is currently paying his salary so, no. He's been a Ford Master Mechanic since 1994.
I use trucks for pulling and as the trucks are getting older and getting replaced, seeing a whole lotta chevys and second to that would be dodge. Nobody is recommending ford anymore.
But it's one of those things, a GM person will always hate on ford, a ford person will always hate on dodge, and an import person will tell me to buy a Tundra. At any given time, only one of us, and probably none of us, is actually right.
As for taking this car to another dealer, it has been to every dealer within an hour of here. I have an actual job where I have to do work (unlike, apparently, the folks who work at dealerships) so I lack the time to drag it to any more dealers than that. I think the current count is 7 and it is currently at YET ANOTHER dealership which is telling me the same thing. The latest verdict is that ford puts rust inhibitor on ALUMINUM parts now.
