I read yesterday that "leak" had been confirmed as false. It was on one if my rss feeds, either TUAW or Cult of Mac.

Thanks for that info. I wouldn't want people to miss out on a real confirmed deal waiting for this. Last year they priced their touches $20 less so if its the same this year its not such a great deal.

does anyone think any of these deals will be available online? my mom wants an ipod touch and and 8 gb is plenty big enough. It would be nice to get a giftcard with it, altough I will still get it regardless since that's all she wants.

Be sure to check amazon.com on BF. They have matched a few of Walmart's Saturday deals including the one this weekend with a $40gc with the purchase of one of the Hero games (DJ,Guitar,Band,etc.)

I just bought mine at Macmall for about $185 shipped. It was the 2nd generation 8gb (which is basically the same as the newer one-I guess you don't get most of the new features unless you buy a 32 or 64gb). For me, this was the best deal without waiting in line on Black Friday (plus I didn't have to pay tax).

The Apple Store has the 2nd generation refurbished 16gb for $199 now, with a full year warranty. I've bought at least ten ipods from their site and in the past 4 years with NO problems. They also offer free shipping.

last year Meijer's was a mail in gift-card. I thought it was going to be one of those printed right at the register, but it wasn't.
