Any Interest In A New Mickey Mouse Movie?

As kind of an offshoot to the post about Mickey regaining his voice, what would you think if Disney did a new movie staring Mickey and Minnie? Or, are they just too classic to even be the stars of a new movie, especially since Mickey has to be nice to everyone? Could we stand to see a modern day Mickey fighting it out with Pete?

honestly, I don't think it would be a successful movie. It's no time for that kind of things anymore, maybe in the future, if things keep getting worse, we will need Mickey again.

At this point a Micky Mouse movie would probaly be to apeal to a pre-school audience because of the playhouse disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show, which my DD-5 loves!

Judging by the lack of posts on this subject I suspect that even die hard Disney fans think this is an non starter. It seems like MM should remain an iconic figure from the past that we can all get nostalgic about. Disney would have to be really careful, one bad movie could be the end.

King Mickey of Kingdom Hearts would like to have a word with you...

Personally, I would love to see a Mickey revival. Either a cartoon that appeals to kids that know how to tie there shoes, or even another full length movie a la the 3 Musketeers. I think its sad that kids today either know Mickey only as an icon, and not an actual character anymore (minus that whole Mickey Mouse clubhouse thing...but that doesn't count.)

Ha HA hA ha HA Ha ha ha hA Ha hA HA hA................ This was a joke correct?

I think a new Mickey movie would be a great idea if done right, I think it would take some Pixar ingenuity but with classic animation... I think Walt would vomit at the idea of just "remaining an iconic figure from the past".
I submit all the following quotes by Mr. Disney himself...

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world"

"I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things."

"Mickey Mouse is, to me, a symbol of independence. He was a means to an end."

"Whenever I go on a ride, I'm always thinking of what's wrong with the thing and how it can be improved."

Seeing as how there is never a line in the Magic Kingdom to actually meet Mickey, and that Chef Mickey's and the other character restaurants are always so deserted, there probably wouldn't be much interest in seeing the mouse on screen either.

Oh, wait a minute...

Just don't ask me how little confidence I have that today's Disney - responsible for masterpieces such as Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Underdog - could do such a movie justice.

If anything there should be more Mickey. I don't want the fab five over-exposed, but come on. "It was all started with a mouse". I don't think he should be in some of the straight to dvd junk we see, but some good movies with good stories would be awesome.

I think you've got the right idea. A well done movie with Mickey would be great! A great family movie - maybe 3D.
