Any ideas on getting Angel Bear (Ty Beanie Babies) in Bulk

A friend of mine is doing a beautiful thing in memory of her granddaughter who passed away last year. Her daughter has decided that they would like to donate some Angel Bears (Ty Babies) to area hospitals so that young babies could each have an angel "stuffie" in their crib to watch over them.

In my friend's daughter's case, she didn't think to bring anything to the hospital when they went and as the baby was diagnosed as having meningitis soon after arrival at the hospital, she didn't want to leave the baby's side to go home to get a familiar teddy.

My thought was to help them buy these beanie babies in bulk. Any ideas on how we would be able to find a supplier?

I think that a good place to start would be with the owner of a local gift shop that sells them...ask him/her for information about where they get them and contact someone at their distributor. The hospital gift shop might even be able to point you toward their supplier. Maybe one of these gift shop people would be willing to order them for you and supply them to you at or slightly over their cost rather than retail.

If you are willing to try another brand, try contacting Mary Meyer to see if they have some sort of a program that would work...they are a Vermont manufacturer or adorable stuffed animals. When my son was in the ER in Vermont, the ER staff gave him a little teddy bear with a t-shirt bearing the hospital's loga, so I think that Mary Meyer might do some kind of program to supply animals for programs like you describe.
