Having to plan a bridal shower & honestly haven't had to do one in years!! I have ideas for games-all the bridesmaids are going to each make a themed basket and everyone will get a ticket upon entering...then throughout the shower we will ask various questions about the bride & groom & then each guest can put their tix in for the basket of their choice...I hate seeing those dollar gifts after everyone cheats on those games...I am clueless on favors...years ago the bride gave everyone these large spoons -I laughed & thought it was silly-but I use that spoon all the time!!!!:rotfl: Any ideas? TIA:goodvibes

I haven't been to a bridal shower in several years, in fact, I think mine was the last one almost 9 years ago, but candles were popular then. I like your game idea, but I sure do hate all those other stupid shower games :rotfl2: I don't remember them playing games at my shower.

I just went to a bridal shower that gave out cupcake bath bombs for favors. They were super cute. Google "fizzy baker bathbombs."

Thanks guys-anyone know where I can get them? Or even check them out? :goodvibes

WE did a theme of a Mad Hatter Tea Party...invited everyone to wear hats (gave away prizes for the best, had the bride pick), had a brunch and gave out tea bags attached to a teacup-shaped iced cookie. This way the person could eat their cookie or not, but wouldn;t have some clutter to bring out everytime the bride came over!!!

At my shower guests were given a cute package of recipe cards and a couple of nice wooden spoons. I thought it was a great, usefull gift.

I boxed ribbon tied tea bags for the last shower I gave (last summer). Lots of variety, and the bride only drinks tea. Everyone liked them--I got the boxes at Micheal's with a coupon, then dressed them up in the bride's colors with scrapbook "stuff".

Sounds good....I don't think the bridesmaids are crafty girls so anyone else that has ideas too sure would be helpful! Thanks!

I had the same problem, my sister in law's shower is next month. I like something semi useful if possible for favors. We are doing tea caddy's. I got them at this site:

I received them already and they are cute. On the back of the box it gives other uses as well if you don't drink tea, like ring holder by sink, soap dish etc. I am going to attach a regular tea bag (they personalize ones but I needed cheaper) and some ribbon or something. They came in a cute clear box with a small ribbon so you don't have to. They had alot of cute stuff on the site but we didn't have much of a budget since 4 out of the 5 bridesmates are out of work! If you find something on there you can google them and find a discount code. I got like 10% off my order. I may even have a coupon myself in my order. If you need it let me know I'll look in the box since I haven't assembled them yet they are all still in there.

I know this may sound strange, but we gave everyone a small dish plant. We were working in a nursery and they just took a big cheap flat, divided up the plants and put them into inexpensive dish pots. Everyone loved it , well not everyone but most. Mine actually lived for two years.

My friends daughters shower is next week and she got these nice custom imprinted boxes with brides name and shower date on them filled with 4 chocolate truffles. They were not to expensive, like 3.50 each.

My shower had a lemon theme so I planted lemon balm in hand-painted pots. I also made a booklet containing uses for the plant. It went over well.

When I did my sister's bridal shower 4 years ago, I went to a bakery and had them make wedding cake shaped cookies with the wedding date on it. Everyone loved them! Good luck in whatever you decide. :goodvibes

At the last bridal shower I went to they wrapped nice bars of bathsoap in netting (tulle), tied them with ribbons, and added a tag saying "from Jennifer's shower to yours". Each person at the shower took one of those home with them. I thought it was a cute, and different, idea.
