Any idea when I should find my best air/rental car rates for Thanksgiving week?

We usually fly Southwest, and they haven't posted Nov fares yet. I'm not sure if they would be my best deal or not that time of year. Car rental rates are sky high. I don't know if they will just keep getting higher, or if a certain # of months out they typically come down. Any thoughts? Thanks!

anyone having luck with thanksgiving car rentals?

i accidentally cancelled my reservation for a $199 a week minivan rental that i made in march. so i'm back to square one.

i accidentally "bought" a southwest ticket instead of using my travel funds a few weeks ago. i had just put a credit card on file and somehow used it.

i'm usually bragging about my cheap trips. not this tme.

Have you looked at Airtran? You could use the $25 off coupon and probably be in good shape.

Thanks for the website info. I'm not going over Thanksgiving, but I was able to find a minivan rental for even less money than my original search (which I thought was a good deal before getting this price)

I am going that same week and found by far the cheapest flights at AirTran. I bought a few months ago though. Also, I'm finding cheaper car rentals for that time period right now at Alamo, using the rental codes from mousesavers.com. (Even cheaper than carrentalsavers.com!)

And I'm finding that the best flights for me, is with Allegiant Airlines out of Hagerstown, Md (I'm in south central Pa.) Our tickets are $59 each way. I like that with Allegiant, I can then add what's important to me, or choose not to pay and save. They charge more if you want priority boarding, a chosen seat, checked luggage, first choice of overhead storage, and I think that's pretty much it.

We chose to have seats together, but other than that, we chose to NOT have priority boarding or first choice of overhead storage, and we're not checking any luggage. It's still a good price.

Off to check the mousesavers link--so far, the best deal I have is around $200 for an intermediate-sized car for the week, with Thrifty! Always trying to do better!
