I already have my tickets for early Aug. but now I have to purchase some for family members. I really don't want to pay the current price b/c I think they will go lower. Can anyone guess when they would have the next sale for Aug. dates?

I have been watching to book our flights in August. Our flight down was $173. I was checking a few times a day. On Wed afternoon I noticed it dropped to $127. I booked my tickets and texted my sister who is also traveling with us. By the time she got on she was only able to get 1 ticket at $127 and the other 3 at $167,

Basically I noticed they can change at anytime, on any day. Just be prepared to only be able to get a few seats at the lower price. Usually the price will drop again in a few days. My airfare home went today from $195 down to $173. I am not sure what to do..... I think that is still too much

Don't forget the annual SWA birthday sale will occur in June. At least it has for the past 3 yrs. I scored $79 flights last year

We have been watching a/f from Chicago to LAX for DL in August. I will be buying 2 seats with cash and 3 with points. When I plug in quantity '1' the outbound is $184 and return is $194 (OUCH). Anything over quantity '1' gives me $194 each way. These fares have stayed the same for at least a week now. I was hoping a new sale would come along soon too. Maybe after Monday because isn't that when the 20% off codes need to be purchased by? I am also getting nervous because the price might just go up and never come down either. Some of the other flights are well in the $200's for one way. If I book with points and the fare drops, will the points go right back into my account?

Ye, I think the points will go back into your account if you rebook at the rate and cancel old one.

We are going Chicago/Lax in June for a DLR trip. The initial flights were about $180 each way. They went down twice to $115 each way. I just constantly checked at least once or twice a day. Good Luck!

Oh that's good news and more like it! I am curious approx. how much before your trip that the prices dropped. Did they stay low for a while or just pop down for a day or so? Thanks!

We are traveling early in June. I don't remember exactly when the lower rate showed up but I would have to say the first time I seen the $115 was in February and it was a short drop but a few days I think. Then again several weeks after and again a short drop in price. Last week the lower price was listed for the trip to LAX but not for return.

Sorry I don't have better recollection. We used a mixture of credits, points and cash to pay for the flights and it was hard to keep it all straight....LOL!
