We are a new to WDW, family of 5, DH, me, DS(9), DD(7), DD(2).......looking to make a last night ADR......thinking we would like something that you could see fireworks from.....or at least memorable.....not character.....any suggestions
thanks:)

I would do O'Hana or Kona. Go to the beach at the Poly afterwards and watch fireworks!

California Grille at Contemporary! A wonderful experience, and they have a viewing deck that you can watch the fireworks from. Even if you dine there early, you are welcome to come back later in the evening and watch the fireworks. It's pricey, but the food, service, and views are fabulous. It's on the monorail, too, which makes it fairly easy to get to - take a bus to MK from your resort, then monorail to CR. Unless, of course, you are staying at a monorail resort - then its even easier. We've only been there once (last year) but really enjoyed it.

Was really looking at this option......
We are on the DDP, wasn't sure if this was worth the 2 TS credits or not.
Do you think it would be okay with the kids......thought it looked like more of a couple restaurant.....definitely looks yummy.....

You could also do any of the resturants at the Epcot resorts and watch the Illuminations Fireworks from the beach at the Yacht and Beach Club. Sometime ( depending on the time of the year ) you can catch both the HS fireworks AND Illuminations.

The Yachtsman Steak House at Yacht Club and Todd English Blue Zoo at Swan are both terrific meals!

You could also do something different and do one of the dinner shows - Poly has one that has hula dancing and Fort Wilderness has Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

California Grill is definitely two credits. My kids (9 and 11 when we were there last year) absolutely loved it. The waiter even cut DS's steak for him so I could enjoy my own meal - what service!! I have found that every restaurant we have been in, Signiture Dining included, has been terrific with the kids (never been to Victoria and Alberts). Even at the places that look very grown up, they still bring crayons for the kids. Actually, those places are even better about making substitutions on the menu, etc. Like a side of pasta instead of potatoes. That being said, we have never used DDP (my kids just don't eat off the kids' menu, they're more likely to split an adult meal) so I don't know if things are different with the plan.

We have also been to Kona cafe and it is very good. Less pricey, and the ambiance isn't quite the same, but the view of the fireworks from the Poly beach is really good. I think it is also two TS credits, but I'm not sure.

My DH and I absolutely love Cali Grill, but we haven't ever taken our DD5 or DD2 there because it is a nicer place and it usually is a longer meal (close to 2 hours). My DD5 would probably really enjoy it, but DD2 doesn't have the longest attention span...of course, your 2 year old might be better behaved than mine! I probably could have taken my DD5 when she was 2, so it just depends on the kid.

I would think Kona would be a nice choice--if you were interested in sushi at Cali Grill I have heard that the Kona sushi bar is very good as well, and you can order from there at the cafe. I am 99% sure that Kona Cafe is only 1 credit on the DDP.

Kona is just 1 credit.

I am currently booked for Kona (1 TS). I think it will be a great last night.
Kid's like the menu, DH likes the menu, very key points!!!
I will love the beach.....we are from east coast Canada.....we live at beaches in summer!!!

Thank you everyone for sharing.....it really helps with decisions.
