We leave in 2 days and I'm thinking about trying priceline again. I have a reservation with Alamo for an intermediate at $219 for 8 days. I'm hesitating using priceline again because the last 2 trips ended up with Hertz. Good prices but too much off an inconvience with the shuttle and lack of counter personnel. Just wondering what kind of prices you have gotten and with what rental car agency.
TIA!

I leave in a week and I've been naming my own price ($14-$21) on occasion for the last week but can't come up with anything. I'm also a debit card only bidder, so that leaves me with Alamo and National and they're prices are high. I think I'll wait until a day or two before I leave. I have a fall back reservation at Dollar for $125 for 4 days of my 6 days.

We would love to try priceline. Is Hertz still offsite? I would really prefer to be onsite and know there is a chance we would have to deal lwith the shuttle.

No luck here with Priceline (using credit card). Suggest prices are from $19 to $23.

We are leaving on the 20th.

Yes, Hertz is offsite. That's one of the reasons I decided not to try priceline again. We have used it many times and have gotten Alamo, National and Avis. But the last two times it's been Hertz and although the price has been good it really was not worth the hassle. I'm sticking with my Alamo rental. Price isn't terrible, just not as low as I would like. We leave for the airport in less than 6 hours! I guess I should get some sleep.

I agree. We have a price of 165 for a compact through Avis and are ok with it. Have fun:goodvibes

I just tried priceline again. I bid $18 for a midsize for 5 days, they counter offered at $22. I decided to accept.

So I ended up with a mid size car from Alamo for $162.50 including taxes and fees for 5 days.
