Any good deals lately on SIrius/XM?

It's time to renew my account and the yr cost is over $200. There is no way I can afford that. Anyone call and get a good deal lately?

I would typically call and get $25/$30 for 6 months. When I told them that is all it was worth to me, they agreed. I refused to pay via phone and paid the extra $2 for a paper bill because I won't give them my credit card number.

As far as I know, $25 for 5 months is still the usual retention deal.

I pay more because I like the All Access plan, but still not full price.

My DD just renewed her service and got $25 for 6 months including all taxes and fees.

You should NEVER pay "full price" for SXM. I've been with them for years, and as noted they usually have a $25 for 5 or 6 month deal. Like msb578, I pay a little more because I like the all access plan too, but it's still cheap.

Call and threaten to cancel, they'll give you the $25 deal. If they don't, then actually cancel. As soon as you hang up from cancelling, call back and say you'd like to consider rejoining.

I always negotiate with them. I just renewed on Sunday and skipped all the back and forth this time and said I can only pay for the same price I have now which is 6 months for $26.99. They said ok . No need to pay full price for Sirius. I also have them send me an invoice as I do not want them to have my cc number. Worth the extra $2 for that

Last renewal, I did have to cancel the whole service for a few weeks. No one would cut me a deal less than $60/6 months, even retention...after 3 weeks when Sirius called every day (and I picked up 1x/week, found out the deal, and declined), I had my husband answer, and he eventually got 6 months for $35, after declining a few times, but staying on to chat (which I still would have refused, but he really wanted it). No way to get the $25 here, but I lived with $35 b/c we had a long distance trip coming - and it was worth it for that...

Why the fear over them having your credit card number? I've been with them many years and never had an issue. Besides, my card has fraud protection anyway. Why spend the $2 extra and have to have a paper invoice?

Because I'm not going through the hassle of auto billing and having to deal with trying to get a refund. My time is worth more than the $2 they charge for a paper bill.

But do you renew every time? And do you call anyway to get the better deal? The risk with having your card on file is that you forget to call and get billed the full price, but you can always call to cancel and get a prorated refund.

When was that? I renewed last week and couldn’t get them that low. The deal I get has always been $25 for 5 months (never 6 months), but last week I could only get them down to $30.

Yes, I always call and renew. Takes me less than 5 minutes on the phone. I set a reminder in my phone's calendar about a week before expiration so I don't forget. Auto billing is not something I'm comfortable doing with any company.

Never, ever automatically renew. Call them and say it’s too much money and you want to cancel. Whatever deal the first person offers, turn down, and you will be connected to a cancellation/retention specialist who will offer you a better deal.

Ditto. Call every 5/6 months and you'll get a deal. I renewed a month or so ago at $25/5 months. I do have auto bill, but I've never had a problem getting a refund if I've forgotten to call before it renewed.

We have to renew before our free trail is up 12/12

They offered $25 for 6 months or 12 for $99

Their BF special was $60 for 12 months for select service. Call them and ask for that.

About a month ago. They offered her $25 for 5 months plus taxes and she refused. She told them the most she could afford was $25 inclusive of taxes and they said OK.

Ok, don’t laugh at my stupid question. But are you all getting $25 per month for 5-6 months ? Or actually just $25 total for the 5 month period ?? And so then are you renewing again after 5 months for another $25?

$25 for 5-6 months total. Never, ever consider paying $25/month for SXM...I don't even think it costs that much at "full price"

I agree, the $25/6 months is pretty much standard. You may have to call to cancel...they'll first offer something like $99 for a year, decline that, then the second offer should be the $25/6 months, which is much better. Just write down when that 6 months is about to run out so you can do it again.

I recently got another offer in the mail on a longer expired radio (about 2 years) for 3 years for $99, so I took that one.

Thank you both! Here I have been thinking we were doing ok the last few years. I have been calling to cancel, but then I accepted that first offer of $99 for a year. Actually, I think in August I was offered $119 for the year & took that. I thought I was getting a deal! Well, I’ll have to try to do better next time!
