Any golfers out there?

I'm trying to plan a surprse golf getaway for DH. I am totally clueless. It's a package for 4. 2 nites in Ocean City, MD, 5 rounds of golf . The price I was quoted is $440.00 double occupancy or $620.00 single. Is this a good price or should I keep trying?

Is that $440 per person? Whether or not it's a good price depends on a couple things. One, obviously, is the accomodations that the package includes. The other, more golf-specific issue is what golf courses the package includes. If they're offering high level courses, then $440 per person for golf and a hotel sounds pretty good, since quality courses can oftentimes run upwards of $60 - $100 a round, per person. On the other hand, some courses can be pretty crummy, and only cost as little as $20 - $30 a round.

Steve, the price is per person. The hotel is an oceanfront property. And I did some research and booked the higher end courses according to what I've read. So I guess its about an average price?

Sounds about average, yep. Say they're charging maybe $75 a night (double occupancy) for the hotel, then they're paying around $60 a round, which is about average.

Quick question: Are they replaying the same courses on two of the days or are they playing two different courses on two of those days? Because if they are playing the same course twice on the same day, the price should possibly be a little lower.

I just had to mention that WDW also has 5 great golf courses. They're undoubtedly the only way I can get DH to go to WDW. I do the parks all day while he plays golf. Can you say "golf widow"?
