Any GM retirees losing their health benefits here?

The reason I ask?

A couple years ago Ford retirees lost their company provided health care benefits and were provided money in a Health Care Spending Account with which to purchase their health care. My DMIL was among those affected. My DH is her POA and since he works a ton of hours I did all the research and supplied the information in order for him to make that decision along with one of his sibs. Most of the big companies held enrollment workshops and clearly laid out their plans.

The plan we picked has been discontinued effective the end of December by BCBS, probably due to the fact that they didn't get the rate hike they wanted. So it's back to the drawing board to compare plans.

I was thinking that since the GM retirees are now in the same boat, the companies are probably having these same type meetings and perhaps I could just go there for the information rather than research and call all these providers separately. Anyone out there even know what I'm talking about? ;) Have they been mailing you information regarding meetings? TIA.

Sorry I don't know for sure if that's happening at GM right now, but I do believe it is at Chrysler. If I remember correctly, as of the new year the UAW will be administrating the health care benefits for the retirees under VEBA. Maybe you can find some info. that way.
