Any get the invite to the Disney Vacation Club Neighborhood Beach Bash

Called this morning at 9:40 am and was able to get a reservation for 3 people for August 4th. They didn't ask for my reservation number, only my DVC member number. Since it was a disney dining person I was talking to, and probably not someone looking at my existing reservations, makes me wonder if any DVC member could sign up for the event, regardless of whether or not they have a reservation for that night. Calling at 9:40 I had 0 wait, and got directly connected to a cast member. I am totally excited for this event. I'm cautiously optimistic that my 5 year old will be able to handle the late night.

Interesting... I only gave my reservation number and not my DVC member number. I forgot all about it this morning and didn't call until lunch time! I didn't realize we can get in early. I made ADR's for 7:30 thinking we'd go over after dinner for the party to start. (we have a car) Now I'm not sure.

we are dvc memebers and live close
do we have to have a disney hotel resevation to go to this event ???

Yes. You need to be staying in a wdw resort during the night of the event. Though it can be on cash or points. Everyone listed on your room reservation is allowed to attend. Transportation is only to and from dvc resorts, so if someone is staying at a non dvc resort they have to find their own way home. If you have a wdw reservation you got an invitation telling you about it. All the info is on the dvc member site. If it's cancelled they said they would contact me at my resort.

I called this am for the 8/11 event and was asked for both my confirmation number and member number.

The CM said the park would be cleared before reopening at 7:00. Makes sense, but we'd planned to be there around 5:00... We may need to adjust now.

Actually, I got the email invitation even though my reservation ends with a check-out the morning of the event. When we found out about the event, I booked that night on cash, and have to change DVC resorts. But I think it will be worth it.

When they do this sort of thing for the holiday parties, in the past they've given out special wristbands for the partygoers. So they don't really clear the park of everybody, but they ask people without wristbands to leave at the posted closing time. That posted closing time as of now is 8pm.

Yes, I've been to the holiday parties. It sounds like this may work differently - if the script the CM was reading to me is correct. But we'll definitely find out when the first party happens.

We are going 8/11 also..CM said we can get in at 7PM and not a minute earlier lol We are excited :)

I guess technically you're still a resort guest until midnight.

Does anyone know if the slides are open during this type of event? What are the typical "select attractions"? Thanks!

No one knows yet. We will know more this week since the first party is Thursday and hopefully folks will report back. All we know is that the wave pool and lazy river will be open. Since lifeguards are needed at each attraction, I'm sure this affects what they open.

I'm going in a little while & will report back which attractions aren't open. I did read, however, that the only attractions that will be closed are Crush & Gusher, and Shark Reef.

Shark Reef was closed today at 5 PM, well before DVC early entry. Crush & Gusher was kept open until (at least) 8 PM. Not sure of the exact time, but it closed shortly after that.

The wave pool was down for a bit - maybe 20 minutes. They reopened about 8:30. CM's reported that they were trying to vacate the park of non-DVC members, and needed the wave pool closed to do so.

Overall, it was one of the best Disney after-hour events we've attended. Great DJ & dancers for the kids, drinks, snacks (including Mickey bars) for everyone.
Slides were open, lazy river was too. My kids didn't want to leave at 11:30 (teenagers), they were having a blast.

And coach buses for transport back to the resort!

Yes it was fun!!!
Crush closed at 8.30
Only lazy river was open when they needed to vacate the park

That's great info. We will head to crusher/gush slides first thing so the kids can get on that before it closes. They loved it last time and even us grandparents got on it. We will be there for the 7:00PM opening.

Did anyone go in at 7pm. Did you need a water park ticket? The cast member I made the reservation with told me you did to get in at 7pm, before the offical party at 9:30 but others reported they were told you did not need one. Just looking to clarify.

I was there at 7
They are expecting the DVC crowd and had a check-in just for us. Very organized, no need for a water park ticket at 7.

It's been made pretty clear in writing in multiple places that you don't need a ticket at 7:00. Before 7:00, yes, though.

Also - they had Mickey & Minnie M&G over by shark reef, Lilo & Stitch closer to the entrance/wave pool area.

We went to the mice around 10, absolutely no line

I wish they did this at other times of the year. We don't typically get there over the summer.
