Any foods that kids are "supposed" to love but your kids don't?

Tastes change with age. My son used to eat broccoli raw as a child, now he HATES it. He also told me when he was about 8 that chocolate just makes your mouth dirty... NOW he love it at 16!

My son ate his first hamburger at 10 with the babysitter. Now he could eat them daily.

One thing that has NOT changed -- he will not eat any condiments but mayonnaise. No ketchup, mustard, jelly... just mayo.

I wouldn't eat anything white when I was a kid because it looked like milk, which I hated then and NOW. I wouldn't eat mayonnaise, ate it first in my 30s, wouldn't eat vanilla ice cream or even white bread. I eat them ALL now. :)

The little girl in our life is picky, but won't eat ketchup, BBQ sauce, ranch - basically anything that I thought you used to get a picky kid to eat. And she'll go without food before she eats anything she doesn't like, so she's pretty underweight.

All of my kids have been fickle about cereal all their lives:confused3 The 4 older ones, don't like milk in their cereal and they don't prefer cereal of any kind all together. I loved cereal and still do! Don't know why they don't care for it. They literally gag it down in the morning before school.:lmao:
dd2 only likes cornflakes or cheerios. She doesn't like the good sugary, chocolaty kinds, just plain cheerios or cornflakes:confused3 My kids are weird!

One more, dd13 does not like chocolate. She will not eat choc pudding or ice cream. What kid doesn't like choc? Weirdos:lovestruc:laughing:

Those kids could live on milk, cheese, cottage cheese and yogurt for the rest of their childhood if I let them:upsidedow

Anybody elses kids don't like kid friendly foods?

My dd's bff and my DGD don't like chocolate. I always make sure I have some sort of vanilla dessert food when they come over. I always say to them that I can't believe I know 2 kids that don't like chocolate

My youngest ds doesn't like hot dogs or mac and cheese. I can't complain though he pretty much eats everything else including all kinds of veggies :)

My DS(4) won't eat macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, or ranch dressing...He has also lately decided that he doesn't like cheese. :confused3

Ds hates with a passion anything that is made from White Potato.....chips, fries, mashed etc etc..........he will literally vomit with just one bite...............but he LOVES sushi!!! My brother just gets the biggest kick out of this, lol! (He does love anything to do with Sweet Potato though go figure)

My ds10 will not eat mac and cheese, any cheese for that matter, french fries, pb&j and didn't start liking candy until 2nd grade. Now, of course, he likes it too much!

Both of my kids hate french fries. My DD, 9, hates cake. How can anyone hate cake?:confused3

I'll see that and raise you one...

I hate cake....but love to bake them. Frosting as well, Love to make it from scratch, but don't like to eat it at ALL.

I don't really like sweets. Chocolate especially. I don't do cake or pie and i have to be in the mood for ice cream. vanilla ice cream.

My sister hates potatoes. any variation. fries, mashed, baked, chips, etc.

My mother insists that we're not hers.

My kiddo hates cheese (of any kind), soup, mac and cheese, fries (actually most potatoes don't go in her mouth..only one kind of instnt mashed), candy, most fast food, white bread, hot dogs (wouldn't try one until she was 8), will eat a corn dog minus the dog, never liked pancakes or syrup, won't eat pie and a great may condiments. I'm sure there are other things she doesn't like, but those stick out. I remember when she was about 1 1/2, she started asking for spaghetti and roast beast, chicken and dumplings...she used to take leftovers for lunch until the school told her she couldn't anymore. Poor kid loved having pork chops and broccoli and rice in her lunch.

I'm soooooooo with you there! I haven't eaten cake in probably 20 years because I find it disgusting and absolutely hate frosting. I am a cookie addict though (chocolate chip minus the chocolate chips...YUM). I just made my dad a birthday cake today so I know where you're coming from with lovin to bake them.

When I was a kid, I didn't like PB&Js still don't. I like Peanut Butter and I like Jelly, but together its eww, gross!!

Then again, I'm very picky about texture and maybe that combo just didn't work well for me.

DD says that frosting is disgusting. She always get a cookie cake for her birthday. She loves cookies. Hershey bars are her favorite!! My cousin buys her a case for Christmas, her birthday, and Easter. She gets so excited over Hershey bars.

My kids really don't like pop at all. They are now 21, 2o and almost 17...didn't get it from me or their dad. The youngest has never had it, the older 2 have but will only drink it if there is nothing else and the oldest will only drink the clear ones.

Youngest, no peanut butter, no grilled cheese sandwiches, only cold cut is turkey, pizza..she'll eat it if there is nothing else but she takes the cheese off and just eats the dough. Mcdonalds or BK..usually the chicken with an occasional cheeseburger. She will order salads now more than anything else.

My oldest gave up red meats while still in elementary school, then gave up meat all together for about 3 years..now she will eat chicken and turkey again..but still no red meat.

Middle, no regular grilled cheese..she doesn't like the "yellow" cheese. None of them are big candy eaters, middle DD doesn't like chewing gum at all.

They probably eat better than I do, but they are not big fruit eaters, veggies yes, fruit no.

No kids but I hated spaghetti when I was young and I still don't love it.

I also dislike peanut butter and the dislike has grown as I have.

My kids scream if I put Macaroni and Cheese on the plate. That and chocolate.

OT...everytime I see your name, I just love it! Hadley. If I would have seen that name before we named dd2, Hayden, I would have named her Hadley. :goodvibes Sorry, just had to throw that in...back to topic;)

Aww thanks:flower3: I really love my name too:goodvibes I was named for Ernest Hemmingway's first wife (good thinkg I wasn't a boy--might have been Ernest:confused::lmao:).

To the PP with the DD who does not like Soda--I never developed a taste for beer at all (but I do love Coke) so it is possible. There is very little alcohol I drink and i never like to have much of it when I do. I have always been the designated driver (yes including in college when I went to the keg parties just so I could make sure all my friends got home safely)--so it IS possible.

Also, I LOVE the PP's daughter's idea for a salad kids' meal at Micky D's. Too cute:thumbsup2 DS always ordered a grilled cheese kids' meal (they will make one using two of the flat "center" buns from a bog mac). It was the only thing he could stomach from there other than the yogurt partfait and ice cream). I wish mine ate salad. Even DD, who eats almost everything and loves really "grown up" foods (bleu cheeses, oysters, salmon, lobster, good steak, artichokes, etc--she will be an expensive date:rotfl2:) does not like salad. no idea what I did wrong there--I love it and we serve it at pretty much every meal:confused3

Add my DS7 to the list of kids who don't like french fries (although we call them chps). He will eat them, as he eats most things that are put in front of him but, given a choice, he would definitely choose vegetables. At McDonalds, he often has carrot sticks with his kids meal instead of fries.

Interestingly, I absolutely hate all vegetables yet DS absolutely loves them - his favourite food is carrots :confused3

Both of my DDs hate PopTarts and cereal, of any kind/flavor.
One of my DDs hates doughnuts of any kind.
