I have a very good friend who was wacked in the jaw on the job. She sustained a displaced disc that doesn't reduce and an injury to the cartilidge and bone. This happened last January and she continues to have difficulty speaking, and still can only eat soft food. She is unable to bite anything. She has seen two oral surgeons. The first said that arthroscopic surgery wouldn't work and sent her for a second opinion. The second surgeon wants to do arthroscopic surgery and if that doesn't work, open surgery. She is a radiologist and must dictate all of her findings. She gets plenty of "professional opinions" but is really looking for someone who has had the surgery and their experiences. Please help. Any thing that you can add is more information than either of us have now.
