Any European holidays in early December?

I am seriously considering booking for the first week in December to take advantage of the cheap room rates on expedia. Does anyone know if there are any french, spanish etc school holidays around that time?

The 8th is a public holiday in Spain, Italy and some others (not France) but as it's a Saturday I don't think it will make much difference

I've booked two nights room only at the Cheyenne so will need to get annual passes when we're there. We're coming back on the Tuesday though so I'm just trying to figure out the best way to book the Eurostar!
