Any DVC members rec'd the Visa Rewards double bonus promotion card?

I didn't get a postvard so I called Bank One and they said that I am not eligible for the promotion. I said to them that it sounds like if you spend a lot of money using there card you get penalize with no offers, but if don't spend a lot you'll get great offers. The operator said they don't know anything, marketing handles the promotions. Oh, well. Guess I'm not going to buy that car on my Dinsey Visa after all!!!

 There seems to be no rhyme or reason to who gets the offer and who doesn't. I think I will request more information, although I really don't expect that I will get an explanation.

Well, if their "target" would be folks who don't use the card enough, I would assume we would be big meat for them... we MAYBE spend about $100 per month on it. The rest of our many charges go to our ToysRUs visa... which nets us 1% back, and then 3% in a ToysRUs store. (With 3 schoolage kids, trust me when I say we NEVER have a problem using our "rewards" points... our xmas and birthdays and kids' school parties are all paid for!)

We always pay off our bill each month -- NEVER carry a balance.

But alas -- no postcard or notice here. Checked the website -- nada. I would, however, like to have that 20% off the girl's bathing suit someone mentioned -- dd wants an Ariel suit in the worst way! (And that's something I CAN'T get at ToysRUs!) Was on-line the other day looking at some as a birthday gift for her, along with those towels they have on sale right now.... I admit, I'm kinda holding off on my Disney store order until I know for sure we aren't included in the double pts offer. I just don't want to wait so late that her size is no longer available!

I received mine in South Carolina today, but I do not see anything about over $550 or another amount. Just that I can only use it for gas, utilities, cell phone, grocery stores, and insurance. Other items only get the 1%.

Hey Happy Birthday Cat. We also drive a Suburban, but won't put much gas on our card for that. Actually have two. My husband told me if I would drive it, he would put the gas in it. Of course it helps to have a family gas station.

:teeth:

I received one today and mine mentioned that it was only good on certain purchases- like Becky V mentioned in the above post. I don't usually use mine for gas, groceries, insurance or cell phones - so I don't see where it will help us much!

I just called Disney Visa only to be told I'm not selected for either the double DD promotion or gas/cellphone/grocery promo. Just e-mailed Bank One through the DV site and said this was hardly a way to treat cardmembers who just joined 2-3 months ago! I think I've only paid two bills so far! Said I would use another card until my reduced-Disney Visa spending caught the eye of their marketing statisticians. Will let you know if it changes anything, but I doubt it!

Cheers and Hello MasterCard!

We received our postcard yesterday.

I feel for those of you who were not selected, but it's really a great deal for those of us who have been "chosen" by the powers-that-be.

We normally use the Disney card for less than $100 per month -- just to have an account for the flexibility of the special offers. Our primary card is an airline mileage card, which gives us more bang for the buck. However, this deal will provide us with double points for any purchases over $150 per month all the way through June. That changes the Disney reward card essentially to a 2% rebate card -- no strings attached. Well, we can't pass that up ... starting Monday, we'll be racking up the charges on the Disney Visa for the next 3+ months.

I charge an average of $1500 per month and I rec'd the offer here in Massachusetts yesterday. 2% applies to everything over $150.00 per month thru June 30, 2004. Doesn't make sense to me why I would be "target" consumer. I spend that each month on household & essentials, then pay it off at billing cycle. Although it will come in handy when I buy 3 AP's next week at the disney store and use it on vacation in April.

IMHO, this sort of thing is unfortunately the result of the Walt Disney Co. turning over the management of their guest loyalty program to an outside company (and a credit card company at that). Rather than focusing on the long-term relationship with the customer, they are focusing on the most immediate quick term profit - how to make more out of the customers they are making the less out of currently. Over the past few years reading these boards, I've noticed many posters state that they felt that it would be nice for frequent/repeat guests, AP holders, dvc owners, etc., to receive special offers or discounts because they were "loyal customers." It is a basic philosophical difference of what a customer rewards program should be. The sort of philosophy we see here is the exact opposite - of all the mistakes and blunders the Disney Co. has made in the last couple of years, I think that selling out their guest relationship management program for a quick buck may have been the worst in the long term. Just IMHO.

I use my Disney Visa alot and did not get it. I just put over $1,000 on it in the last week (CRO res for 1 night = $301, 3 plane tickets for May trip = $753).

I did get an offer for my Bank One AOL Visa which I don't use as much. Double points for gas, groceries, dining, utilities, insurance & wireless service 3/15/04 to 6/30/04. Guess I'll be using that one more, especially for the specified items.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I got one for my amazon.com visa (from bankone). I never use that card though. I would rather have the disney dollars.

We received in the mail on Wednesday this week. It has no indication of what it can be used for but that we have to spend over $350.00 per month for the promotion to kick in.

We signed up for the Disney card 9 months ago. I have kept all the statments that we get each month as I do with all of our credit card billings. After looking at the Disney card statments it was such a surprise to see that the largest billing for one cycle we had on the Disney card was ..........you guessed it $350.00.

We just came back from Disney and used this card extensively during our stay, But of course this was all done before the promotion kicks in which is on the 15th of March. We use an airline credit card for most of our billings since we come out way ahead on it. But this time we thought we would try the Disney Card to see if we could build up some of our reward points.

IMHO this is a low blow by Disney to get you to spend more than you normally would on thier credit card. There is no reason why Disney could not of offered the promotion for every card holder. The idea of having different set levels for card holders to have to spend each month in order to take advantage of the promotion is just plain unfair. So much for treating everyone fairly. So as far as we are concerned Disney can say goodbye to the usage on this card.

I am a fairly high volume user (average about $2,500 per month) and I pay off the balance each month. I have not received the promotion. If I do not I will probably stop using the card and go back to my American Express card. I don't feel it is fair to penalize active users of the card. I have been very disappointed with the end of the Magic Kingdom Club and now the Disney Club. I guess loyalty is not valued much by the Walt Disney Company. I do have enough to purchase one adult 7-day park hopper. I had hopped to buy two before our December trip but may just use my AMEX for airline tickets instead.

I received the offer today. I have to spend $850 per month!!!!!! My Mom also received it, she only has to spend $150!!!! I always use mine, she rarely uses hers. So she gets the better deal. I just fired off an e-mail asking that I receive the same offer. This is very unfair.

We received the offer yesterday. We have to spend more than $350, that's not hard, but we prefer to use our Chase card for miles.

We were one of the 'lucky' ?????? ones that rec'd the promotion but have to charge $2300.00 a month...You guessed it thats what i usually put on it every mth and pay off....They got my number......

There was a similar promotion a few months ago that we were not offered. I called customer service and pretty much voiced what has been mentioned in this thread, that I think it stinks that good customers are taken for granted and never receive the extra perks. And what do you know...this time we were offered the double rewards on anything over $800. I don't know if my call had anything to do with it, but I would like to think it did.

We did not get this offer (double points) last spring but did receive it a couple of days ago. We have to spend over $150/month on groceries, gas, utilities, etc. I have tended to use this card for major purchases only.
