Any DVC members rec'd the Visa Rewards double bonus promotion card?

I hear ya BuzzsGramma - we got the postcard a few days ago. Ours doesn't kick in until we reach over $2,000 per mth. We normally charge EVERYTHING and it averages about $2,000 a month (which we pay off). They have never made any money on us. Maybe they are trying to get us to spend even more and start carrying a balance?

However, ours did have a fine print, too. The $2,000 quota you have to meet is only applied to certain items. Then anything over that amount would get double rewards. We threw our postcard in the trash.

I just recieved the double points offer via a letter. I am getting 2% on ALL purchases made between July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005. There is no threshold. I get 2% for every dollar spent. The only exceptions are that I am capped at 100 rewards dollars per month during this period. The only transactions that do not qualify are balance transfers, cash advances and convenience checks.

I have to say that this offer is so enticing that I am going to start to use my card. I have been a member since day one and I have only used my card twice - a $10 purchase so I could get the pin and then I used it for a deposit on a room at the WL when I got the Disney Visa rate. I have a card sponsored by Fidelity through MBNA that gives 2% cash on all purchases deposited directly into my kids' college savings plan, and I use that card exclusively. But since we are in the process of becoming DVC members, I am going to take advantage of this offer for the next 12 months to help purchase the 5 APs I need to buy for our next trip.

By the way, I live in Massachusetts.

Initially received the promotion on-line and than in the mail last week. I have to spend $150.00 a month before the double points kicks in, and the deal in good through June 2005. It is a great deal for us, as we will be heading to WDW twice between now and Aug. 2005.:teeth:

I received the card in NJ. We usually charge about $3000 a month. Pay it off every month (except maybe christmas).

We have to spend $2,300 a month to get DD. Charges have to be for "everyday purchases, Month expenses or entertainment". reading the fine print entertainment does not list airline tickets, or vacations.

I sure wish I was one of the people that got DD on everything over $150!

Yes in Maine. Got it last week. I would consider myself a heavy user. I charge everything and pay it off monthly.

Our deal is spend $800 on certain expenses (groceries, dry cleaning etc) and then get 2% for a year.

But it said "participating merchants". I hope that means anyone who accepts VISA. So I'm on my way $200 in groceries yesterday.

I haven't seen any double points offers lately. I won't mention how much we charge per month, but just say we use it extensively and we pay it off each month....

I have been toying with the idea of alternating different reward cards each month to see if that might get us some more benefits. The only thing I can think of wrong with this plan is that it isn't always a clean cut-over and I prefer to just have to keep track of one bill...

Maybe alternating every 3 or 4 months... Has anyone else tried this and received double points offers?

We haven't seen anything about double points, either. I use my Disney card for regular purchases per month...gas, groceries, etc.
so that we can accumulate points to use while at WDW...very nice to get dinner at Cape May paid for by points :) I even tell our kids that the cost of their braces are helping them to get Disney souveneirs...seems to take some of the sting out of having the braces. :sunny:
Sure would like to be part of the double dollars offer!!

we're not eligible for double points untill we spend 2300.00. After reading some of these posts I feel a bit cheated. Thinking of switching over to something else.

yes Cinderelli, I did read its on certain things and its over that amt. and then it starts...I called them last time and complained about no offer. so I got one but I still think it STINKS....and so I think I will stop using the card for about a mth..and see how that works....I would like to know the person that thought up this IDEA....

I do not blame you guys for being upset. I am being rewarded for not using my card by receiving no limitations and no threshhold on the double rewards for 12 months. Some of the offers that you regular users are getting are insulting IMHO. I understand that the intent is to increase card usage, but there shouldn't be that much of a difference in the offerings.

We are another day one member who uses the card for everything and pays it off every month. We just got a letter yesterday that for a year we get double over 2,300. I thought this number was based on the fact that our average monthly bill is 1,500 and on occasion we spend up to 2,500.

It really does seem unfair that loayal users have such a high amount. Also I just gave a friend a code when she got a Disney Visa, she got 50 points for being refered by me (did we get anything? NO!) I bet she will get the double points because she waited to get one too. Oh well, such is life. I seem bitter, but I do love my Disney Visa. I am one of those considering using another card for flyer miles instead for a while and seeing what Bank One has to say about that.
