Any dreams granted yet?

I was just over reading on the WDW board about dreams that have been awarded for the new "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion. SO, I'm curious...has anyone here had a dream awarded at Disneyland?

Nope. I talked with a CM about the subject at length, though. (This was last week.) She said they really haven't been told very much about it. I told her what I'd read online, and that the CMs will be awarding some of the things. She wasn't aware of that!

She said they have a sort of "Dream Team" made up of CMs from around the park, and that team will do all the awarding. The week we were there she said the team was already out and about in the park for practice, not yet awarding anything. She said the staff of the Dream Team is supposed to change every few months to give others a chance to participate, but she seemed to think it would be only the more experienced CMs chosen.

I told her about some of the prizes I'd read about here on the DIS and seen in the 'commercial' on the Disney site, and she said they hadn't been told much about the prizes, either, that the CMs keep asking for more info (because they're being asked by guests) and management was being pretty tight-lipped at that point.

I think it will be a lot of fun, and I hope one of you with a future trip wins something and can tell us about it!

Yes - many people have been awarded the fast passes and the dreams ears. Some others are also getting special service at resturants (table service at a buffet) and in stores (personal shopper type service) - pins and lanyards have also been given out.

Now for the big prizes - no one knows yet.

Does anyone know how the dream fast passes work? Does just one person in your party get one? If so, how does that work if you are with a group of people. We're going in December with a lot of family and I'm just wondering how this works.

When I was at DCA in line for Golden Screams, they were passing out "Year of a Million Dreams" pin lanyards, with two "Year of a Million Dreams" pins on it, and I was one of the lucky few that got one of those.

I saw probably a half dozen CMs with the "dream bags" wandering around, but that was the only time I ever saw them doing anything....I did see a family in Downtown Disney that was wearing the ears that have the blue cloud design on them, though. I'd like a set of those! :-)

At this time it appears that eveyone in your group wins one.

The way it was explained to me, the CM has instructions to give out a specific number prizes at a specific time at a specific location. For an example, give fastpasses to the first 10 people to exit Indiana Jones at 3:17pm.

So it is possible that not everyone in your group will get the prize. They have no leway to give 11 or 12 prizes just because not everyone in your group received one.

Just got back from DLR . . . Oct 3-8. On Thursday I saw somewhat of a commotion under one of the tunnels leading to Main Street from the gates. A CM was saying "You're a winner!" I ran over and said "I want to be a winner!" He handed me and my husband each on of the fast pass lanyards. It was pretty cool to win, but the fast passes weren't really needed for most of the rides.

On Saturday we retrieved the purchases we had made at the parks from bell services to find that a box of Mr. Potato Head parts was missing. We were pretty concerned because you can't just call up and order a box of parts -- you have to pick from a giant display the ones you want and you have to be creative in getting everything packed in. We called the store and tried to tell them the pieces we wanted, but really couldn't remember what we had purchased. About an hour later a CM came to our hotel with a bag full of parts and a set of pins: two identical YOAMD pins . . . one to keep and one to make someone else's dream come true. I don't think I ended up with all of the Potato head parts, but I wasn't too upset because I ended up with a "dream" pin.
