Any discounts for groups / extended families for June?

I'm trying to organize an extended family vacation beginning June 7. We will need 3 rooms (6 adults, 5 children) Can't decide if dining plan (maybe quick service) is reasonable for this number of people. Is 4/3 offer the best thing out there for this time and number of people?

From what I have seen it is the best deal out there and it is the best there has been since 9/11. I don't think they offer any deals except until 15+ rooms. We had 4 rooms on our recent trip and no special discounts. If you have 8 or more people, you can register for Grand Gathering. We didn't get any discounts but they did put all our rooms closer together plus you can work with GG for dining ADRs for larger groups. Have a great trip.

Depending on how long you stay, the Buy 4/Great 3 discount is far better than anything you get through Disney groups.

The discounts from Disney groups are minimal, at best, and have a far more restrictive contract than a normal booking.

The only real deal is if you qualify as a youth group with a tax ID number for a youth organization - then you can get adult tickets and the youth price and even some chaperone tickets.

A Disney Grand Gathering is probably your best best.

If you do not have to have a meal plan you night consider renting a DVC reservation from a member. Since you are arriving on a Sunday you could get the next 5 weekdays in a studio and a 2 br villa at OKW for 199 points or about $2000 at current point costs. Weekends are better done for cash but sometimes closer in there are discounts where you could get the same size rooms for about $600/night. For a little more you can get a standard view at ALV or BW. For about 1/3 more you can get any of the DVC resorts. For a large group it is great to have a large living room and a full kitchen (which give you a good place to “crash” during the hot mid day and saves a fortune on park bought food. This easily makes up for any “additional costs” of the accommodation unless you get a discount rate at a value.

I have an OKW grand villa (3br 2300sqft that sleeps 12) for a 5 day portion or my extended family vacation for June 14-19, but these usually book up at the 11 month window.

Thank you all for your info. Is Disney continuing Grand Gatherings in 2009? Thought I heard rumor that program was a goner... of course we all know how reliable rumor is...

I have not heard anything about eliminating GGs, they have opened some of the GG events to the general public though.
