We are visiting DisneyLand/DCA/Downtown for four full days to include our day of arrival - Any suggestions on what restaurants to consider? This is our first trip there. We love to eat! Any place at any of the Disney hotels to consider? Is there any place like Peco Bill's at WDW where they serve all the burger toppings to include mushrooms, onions, etc?

Thanks!

Our favorite place is Whitewater Snacks at GC hotel. You can get to it from CA. It is a quiet place to eat. My husband loves the nachos. My favorite is the chicken sandwich. The portions are huge and prices are reasonable for Disney. We also like the bengal bar-b-que @ Disneyland. If you want to go off the property, there is always Mimi's Cafe which is always great. :earsboy: Enjoy your trip!

To the best of my knowledge there isn't a buger place at the Disneyland resort that has the fixin's bar like at Pecos Bills.
Good places to eat at Disneyland....
The Blue Bayou has incredible atmosphere and the food is fine but not the greatest.
The Plaza Inn doesn't have a big menu but the food is good and inside seating is "elegant".
Red Rockets Pizza Port has so-so pizza but good pasta and not much atmosphere.
Rancho del Zocalo is themed nice enough with some decent mexican food.
At DCA I like to eat at Ariel's Grotto. It is a character meal and the interiuor dining area is fanciful and I like the food.
Pacific Warf has good bread bowl soups and salads.
At the Hotels....
The Grand Californian
The Storyteller Cafe is a good all purpose restaurant. Everything I had there has been good except for the filet which was just okay.
Napa Rose is the nice (expensive) place and it is really nice and very good with the best service I have ever had.
The Disneyland Hotel.
Goofy's kitchen is a great character meal. I have only been for breakfast but they have lots of good stuff to pick from. It is great to be able to have Salad and pizza and tater tots for breakfast (along with eggs, bacon and the other usual breakfast fare).
Hooks Point has had some very good food and is "medium" priced.
I have yet to make it to any Downtown Disney eateries.

When we eat inside of Disneyland it is always at Bengal BBQ or Riverbelle Terrace. We also love, love the chocolate cake inside the Golden Horseshoe. When we are in DCA Tastepilot's Grill is good and my husband loves the fish tacos at Concina Cucamonga. In DTD we always have Rainforest Cafe, which is consistanty good. We are a large family and like to purchase food that is a good value. Hope this helps!

If you plan on eating at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney, each adult can sign up for MVP Club on the ESPN website and you receive a $20 credit that can be used for food or merchandise at ESPN Zone. We ate there and it was pretty good. If you decide to do that, the credit is only good for 30 days - so wait until just before you leave to sign up.

the ESPN Zone deal has changed and no longer has the $20 credits.. they still do give the coolers and the points for upstairs, but not for food anymore... I guess too many people ( us included!) must have enjoyed it.

When did this change???? We just used ours while we were there last week and they still had it going on.

Along with the 2 adult 20.00 credits we also received $10.00 to use that we received because we had the California City pass. So when we were there we had credit of 20 + 20 + 40 (4 tickets)= $ 80.00

We had a great time while we were there and the food was very good also.

I think it just ended for new registrations sometime in the last 2 weeks (I just missed it!)

That's too bad, that was such a great deal.

When we were there they were out of coolers, so they took down our address and said they would send it to us....so we'll see if we get them or not. :teeth:

This is what their website says now....

Welcome email: It expires 30 days after you register. If you are not visiting the Zone within 30 days, please do not register.
# The $20 Voucher: The voucher is one of your perks. This expires on October 31, 2005. The $20 voucher will no longer be available to new members after July 28, 2005.

It was a great deal while it lasted!

Let's see, in Disneyland the best sit down restaurant is the Blue Bayou, but it's often hard to get inside. Close by is Café Orleans which has some very good clam chowder! As far as burgers, Hungry Bear in Critter Country are pretty good, kind of plain though. Oh, the Riverbelle Terrace has a very good sandwich called Tom's Turkey Sandwich or something like that. The meat was perfect, wasn't salty or dried out!

In Downtown Disney, we like to eat at the Rainforest Café. There's a bit of a waiting period to get in, but it's a cool place.

In Disney's California Adventure, we ate at the place right next to Soarin' Over California. It was okay, but we sat directly under a huge air conditioner and our fries got cold real fast! Yuck! White Water Snacks in Grand Californian has excellent chicken quesadillas with guacamole! *drools* Better stop, I'm making myself hungry! :earboy2:

This is where we ate at also, my children love eating there. We went late one evening and they had tables available right away on their heated outside deck. So we took it, but it just wasn't as fun as sitting inside where all the action was at. So next time if they give us a choice I would wait for a table so we could sit indoors.

We're simple people :) but

at DL we like pasta at Pizza Port

DCA we like the salad from the 'Pilot' place by Soarin, Corn Chowder from Boudin Bakery, and the kids/DH like the hotdogs in Hollywood and the corndogs by Jumpin Jelly Fish. For dessert we love the 'swirl' frozen yogurt by Screamin. Can't for the life of me think of the name.
