Any difference in crowds for these July dates?

We have two options for July:
Monday 12th July for 5 nights, arriving early afternoon, then leaving early Saturday morning
or
Wednesday 14th July for 4 nights, arriving late afternoon, leaving late Sunday afternoon.

I know there is the sports thing on during the early part of the week, but not sure how that would compare with weekend crowds?

We are staying at the HOJO, so right near the parks. This is our second visit, but last time was only 2 nights so can't really remember much about it! :rotfl:

Is there anything on at weekends that isn't on midweek or would we be able to see/do everything whichever dates we go for?

Thanks :thumbsup2

There will be zero difference in DLR's offerings between those two dates. The only differentiator for you is which works better. I would shy away from the All-Star game period up to July 13 if I could, but would not hesitate to go during those dates if that is all that I could do.

For us personally it looks like the last week of July this year. :)

Thanks for your advice, to be honest I think going for the 5 nights from the 12th would work better for us, then our final night will be in Hollywood, which is nearer to to LAX for our loooooong flight home to the UK. :sad2: Also our hotel in Hollywood, the Renaissance, is quite a bit cheaper on a weekend, so leaning towards taking that option, so you think it will be manageable with the all star crowds? We would have another 3 full days after the game has ended so hopefully crowds would die down a bit. Or am I dreaming on that one? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I would not worry about it at all. Will it affect crowds? Sure, at least a little.

I think All-Star game attendees tend to be mostly locals anyways, and they will have little interest in DLR as they can go anytime since they are local. It is not like the Super Bowl (sometimes held in SoCal) or the Rose Bowl (on or around New Years Day in SoCal every year) where the bulk of visitors are from out of the area. The baseball All-Star game is an exhibition game with little interest by most Americans.

Go with your plan A and don't think about it anymore. You already got a good date in July away from the AP holders which is a far, far more important issue. :)

Oh thanks so much, feel happy about our dates now, and DD has agreed with my plan, lol, she has no option really but I always ask her! :rotfl2: I do all the planning and she turns up on the morning with her luggage! :rotfl: Thanks again for all your help, and hope you have a wonderful time too.
