Any difference between AP or standard ticket for entry on capacity days?

Hey everyone! We're rather new to Universal and have only visited once in 2019. We're looking at possibly adding a couple of days to our upcoming WDW trip in May and are considering getting an AP as we visit Florida pretty frequently.

But I had a couple of questions. Does having an AP affect your ability to get into the parks during really busy times? With WDW, AP holders have a order time getting park reservations. I know that UO doesn't do park reservations, but I wondered if having one affects park entry at all.

Also, how are the discounts for UO hotels with an AP? Does it make much of a difference? AP at WDW get quite substantial discounts at times. Getting a good discount could be worth getting one right there.

Thanks for the info!!

As of now, guests staying onsite are allowed into the parks.
If the park is closed due to capacity limits, you still are allowed in.
Possible there could be a slight wait, but you will not be denied entrance if you have the AP or park ticket.

Having an AP does not mean you automatically receive the ap rate for a hotel room.

You have to book your room with the ap to get the discounted rate.

Dates vary when a room/hotel lists available time periods
when it is offered.

Some of my bookings have matched up to periods when the ap rate is available.
Also it can vary for which onsite hotels offer this booking discount
if an ap rate is not available for your planned dates for stay, there are other public discount rates available
a few times I have booked the stay more, play more discounted room rate

the discounted rooms are quite similar in cost

when mine don’t Match up for a particular stay there usually wii be an advertised rate that is similar at a reasonable cost
might be a small discount.

If you know your planner dates hopefully you could get a discount for thr room onsite busy time rates may seem high.
many rooms are not selling out rates may at times drop

keep checking the dates you need
Only some select numbers of rooms are available at times
. Keep checking for a room as if reservation are low, prices couldn drop
room prices change in order to Have more rooms booked
