I'd like to get my little 4yo DGS a new winter jacket. It has to be warm, preferably down, as he lives in Western Mass where it's predicted to be below normal temps and above normal snowfall this year. Anyone find any good deals out there yet? He's a size 5/6.

Check out Lands End. They have great winter jackets for kids. Right now there is a 30% site wide sale going on.

Their jackets are pricey, but the squall jackets are really warm and the sleeves can be extended 11/2 inches as the child grows, thereby lasting more than one season.

LLBean. 10% off order, free shipping and $10 gift card for later. I thin k that sale ends tonight though.

LLBean stuff lasts forever and is worth the $$. And for a good warm coat, I think they are reasonable.

The last i looked lands end had a couple of last years colors in their online outlet shop.

I have two boys and can usually get two years per boy out of a jacket. Llbean quality is great but lands end has held its own and tends to be our
Go to store price wise. I also often get jackets in april during clearance sales. Last spring found lands end $150 jacket on sale for $80 but with 60%
Off that. Paid under $40.

I'm going to second Lands' End. I have bought my kids coats there for years. I've never paid more than $30-$35 a coat and I've always gotten at least 2 years out of them with the grow-along sleeves. I bought my daughter a beautiful coat this past April to put away for winter. It was $160 for $30! I have found the best deals to be Thanksgiving weekend- if you can hold off buying it until then. I used to live in Worcester and Gardner, so I know about Mass weather and it's unpredictability.

If you have a Discover card, you can link through their shopping page and get a 10% cash back bonus on Lands' End, which can in turn be used to buy gift cards for Lands' End:cool1: $20 in acshback bonus gets you a $25 GC.

I love Carter's for my little guy. They frequently have 40-50% off sales that can be combined with their 15% and 20% coupons. I've never paid more than $30 for a heavy winter coat or $35 for a whole snowsuit!

I was just at Sam's today and they had some nice warm winter coats for kids and they were $29 :thumbsup2

Probably 80% of the coats in our home are from LL Bean. The only problem I've ever had is buying a 'boy' color and it not appealing to his little sister when it was her turn to wear it.

They even have a boy's parka (and a couple of jackets) on their clearance page, plus as previous poster mentioned, free shipping and $10 gift card back.

If you want something different try Sierra Trading Post online. If you sign up for their emails they are always sending out coupons for 35-50% off of their items. They have great ski coats at really good prices. I love real ski coats for my kids. They are usually super warm and you can get great colors and patterns. I know LL Bean & Lands End coats are great but I feel like half the kids in my kids' classrooms have them & they all pretty much look the same. I just got my youngest DS6 a Marker jacket for under $50. It arrived in the mail today & it is super cute & looks like it will be super warm.
